Fun movie with heart and humor
28 August 2023
I really enjoyed the movie and the realistic depiction of a Hispanic family. I thought the jokes were funny and well done, the Villain could've been better but I also liked the action and realism in the fact that it took him time to figure stuff out and he wasn't just awesome right out the gate it had a good range of emotions too.

The script was decent, a little more character development would've helped but overall it was enjoyable and I think it makes for a great family movie night. Also the soundtrack was excellent and versatile. They put together an eclectic mix of Hispanic tunes new and old.

They've juiced up the ratings. This is terrible.
14 February 2021
Clearly this has bot ratings or people involved with the production. There's no way this more is anything above 3 or maybe 4 and that's generous. This movie is God awful. One of the stupidest movies I've scene in years. Poor script, over acting and constant screaming of lines. Not funny, not scary, not good.

I commend the heroes but this movie wasn't it...
20 November 2020
Boring, slow and the dialogue was some of the worst I've ever seen in a big screen movie which shocked me seeing that it was produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. Lines seemed bland and improv'd and the gentlemen while real life heroes couldn't command the screen or viewers attention.

Excellent film specially in these times.

I read some of these reviews and I wonder what movie people thought they were watching. And I felt the pace of the movie was good. They needed time to build their plan and also time to develop chemistry as this fiasco starter on one date. The film kept me engaged. A few minor scenes could have been cut to shave maybe 10-15 mins but I was fine with it. And the film was realistic specially with the ending. It's well worth the watch, ignore the haters who are just mad about the premise and enjoy it for yourself.

Watch "The Aggression Scale" it's better & more believable
13 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This isn't a good movie. Basically it's "The Aggression Scale" 2 but with a 13 year old girl who some how manages to turn teenage angst and rage into enough fuel to mutilate 4 big convicts using ultra violence, a ruler, some color pencils and a dog. Script was poorly written. A lot of stuff doesn't make sense from the audience point of view. For example, 1) the Nazi theme could of been left out and this movie would be the same, so what was is purpose? 2)the characters I. Particular Joel McHale as Dad. He seemed selfish and narcissistic marrying someone when his wife just died a year ago from cancer so means he's been seeing the chick at least 6 months I'm assuming. But aside from that he's nicest guy and can't control his teen daughter yet is alpha male d*ck when making life altering choices. 3) wtf was the key for!?!? Why even bring it up? It's the focal point of the movie and literally has no significance as the audience never discovers it's purpose.

The only redeeming this was Kevin James was actually pretty good in a serious role and I liked the switch up. He did what he could given the awful script. And I liked the editing in some scenes where it was show things happening at the same time like they were in the same place when they were actually not near each other. Other than that save your time unless you're a big Kevin James fan this is a dud. Go watch "The Aggression Scale" for the real version of what this could have been.

Giving it a 7, you guys are giving low ratings purposely
16 April 2020
What did you all expect? Citizen Kane? I mean seriously. It's probably more like a 5 than a 7 but I had to boost it a bit due to the super low ratings. It's a fun little flick. Is it mindless entertainment for a couple hours? Yes but the concept was decent and there was enough going on to keep you engaged. Middle of the road movie but certainly not a 1 or a 2....some of you miserable people gotta learn to temper your expectations and just enjoy certain films for what they are.

Better than it's getting credit for
14 August 2019
I never write reviews but this movie had heart and soul behind it. Well acted and very detailed. Politics and ties to real life people are why I believe it was shelved and not given the proper release it deserved. It could have been a little better but it's heart was in the right place.

Superbad with T*ts...
8 June 2019
It was a female Superbad but not as funny. Though there are some good comical moments it never lives up to the hype and other 9-10 star reviews on here. I'm all for female leads but it's gotta be funny. Like "Bridesmaids" that was hilarious, this was trying hard to be like Superbad but I just don't think it ever reached that level. Funny scenes but kind of drags in some spots. Enjoyable but nothing to write home about.

Slow Building tension mixed with atmospheric discomfort
5 July 2017
I enjoyed this show and look forward to seeing how they build upon it. I like the format of 6 episodes although it seems a little stretched out for this story.

I grew up a big fan of shows like The Twilight Zone, Tales From the Dark Side, Outer Limits and Tales from the Crypt so shows like this intrigue me.

I thought the atmosphere of the show was excellent and also the slow building tension. The show definitely makes you uncomfortable. Only drawback was it was a little too slow at times and you were waiting for something to happen. Acting was decent though and direction was great. I like the effects they used as well on a small budget. Cheers and I look forward to hopefully great things as the show continues.
