Stutz (2022)
Fascinating Figure, Confusing Format
Stutz seems to have great lessons which should be heard from more than just his clients. I just can't really comprehend the concept Jonah had in mind.
Honestly, I feel like he put his ego way too much in this. I didn't understand why his mother showed up. I didn't get why he had to do this whole "plot-twist" with the green-screen. That one just felt out of place.
Jonah said the doc is not about him. But it feels like it is.
Why didn't he just focus on the lessons of Stutz? The lessons were truly the most compelling part of it but it was hard to keep track of them.
Jonah you are great, but there was too much of you in there.
Marlowe (2022)
Get to the point Marlowe!
I was fairly excited for this movie, beeing able to watch it in the presence of Diane Kruger and Liam Neeson.
The movie was a disappointment. Many people walked out on it. The dialoge was flat (as were the characters) tideous, boring and way too often: repetative! Marlowe tortured my nerves with his over and overstating. Also, some lines were so extremly cheap I could only cringe. And a movie like this is usually driven by dialogue.
The only good acting was by Jessica Lange, the plot didn't interest me, the photography was decent but nothing special.
Maybe I am just to unfamiliar with film-noir and couldn't appreciate it because of that. But I was not a fan.
Aziz Ansari Live in Madison Square Garden (2015)
Forced wokeness disguised as comedy
This is not funny at all. There are no brilliant jokes in there. Aziz just goes on a woke rant to come off as sympathetic. It comes of like an incredibly manifactured PR-Stunt where comedy is not the priority.
The Tinder Swindler (2022)
Shallow Victims
That's what happens when you're a shallow person and select guys based on material posessions. Money isn't everything in a man. Look for other values.
Tenet (2020)
Don't Evaluate Too Much After First Watch!
This movie has so many layers, one couldn't possibly pick up on each one by the first watch. Too many impulses are triggered, to see beneath the surface.
On second watch, when your brain wont be only oquipied by trying to keep up with the complex storyline, you will discover the true meaning of it as well as the humanity and soul of the three main characters.
1917 (2019)
A primitive but extraordinary story
Since the movie plays in real time, the viewer is put directly into the story and feels like the third soldier.
At first, we accept Lance Corporal Tom as the lead character, since he has way more lines then William at the beginning. However, we get to understand that we need to switch to William. This rare in movies and brings a lot of depth and excitement.
The storyline is very simple and easy to follow. We don't question the actions seen on screen, because it is always very clear. This forbiddens the interpretation of the viewer to a certain degree.
The little dialogue helps us to perceive the environment and circumstances the characters are faceing. In return, we only know the main characters superficial which makes it hard to feel deeply connect to them.
