Wonderful
20 November 2005
Telling a tale of culture and love amongst Jewish immigrants in the late 1800's, this picture works perfectly well as what it is meant to be: A nice, little film. The story by Abraham Cahan is cut to the screen in such a way, that can only be described as "pictures of atmosphere". The reality of the story is given some importance in both setting, choice if actors and so on. Background music is almost only used, when storyline is at an halt f.ex. when the characters are to go from one place to another or when the focus are on the setting. The music used is, as well as everything else, highly influenced by popular music of that time in which the story is supposed to take place. and the result of all this is a lovely period piece and therefore I have chosen to give it 10/10, because even though it is not a masterpiece, it is everything it means to be, and should be recognized for this. And if you ask me, they make too few movies like.

All Hail the Darkest of Harry Potter Films ... yet
19 November 2005
Which really can't come a surprise to anyone who has read the books, given that they becomes darker and darker as well. And that this time it does get a bit more serious ... but I won't give the ending to the 2 people who has not read them.

This movie is one of those you have to see more than once, to completely take in all of the many impressions you are given throughout the film. It is quite clear, that they must have had a hard time cutting the film down to 2½ hours. if you ask me, sticking to the original idea of making 2 films out of the book would not have been a bad idea. But that does not mean the movie does not work. As a matter of fact I dare say that is is the best Harry Potter film so far. But as a warning to the 2 people I mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to discuss the start of the book with someone who has read it, as I imagine it could be rather difficult to understand everything with scenes shifting so fast without much explanations of the characters action. To everyone who has read the often mentioned book, should know that they have changed the story in a few places, but nothing of much significance.

Proceeding to the new actors, I am happy to say an over-all "bravo". Brian Gleeson as Alastor Mad-Eye Moody, Miranda Richardson as Rita Skeeter, Pedja Bjelac as Igor Karkaroff and of course Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort all give outstanding performances. Yet again BRAVO! I could speak of them for hours. But I am not going to. Because if I don't try to limit myself this is going to be so long that no one will want to read it ... ever. On the bad side, I must say that David Tennant had a tendency to overplay his role. (what is that tongue thing!??) and Roger Lloyd-Pack had too small a role to really give his character the depth he had in the book, (though I am not sure whether or not the actor could give it) and neither is there to time to get under the skin of the other newcomers as f.ex. Fleur Delacour and Viktor Krum.

As a final point I must say that even though the movie is dark it has a lot of comic relief (more than the 3rd movie) given to us sometimes by the famous twins Fred and George Weasley. And notice the growth of the role of Neville Longbottom(!!!). Now I must go. Watch the movie.

I recommend everyone, who can handle the mass of violence, to go see it
8 April 2003
On my birthday the 2nd of April, just last week, I want to see this movie in the cinema. And what a movie it was. I was shocked, stunned after watching it. This movie shows things, that I think, we need to see. I recommend everyone, that can handle the mass of violence in Gangs of New York, to go see it.

Leonardo Dicaprio is not a mommas boy, Daniel Day-Lewis is great as Bill the Butcher, and the plot ...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003)
I´ve seen worse
27 November 2001
Before reading this, note that we in Denmark get the series about a year later, than in US.

I think this series is really, really good. Propaly one of the best I have ever seen - but I have one problem with it: the guys.

I mean, take Angel: when he has a soul, he just go around crying: "buhuhu, I hate myself, I have killed so many people, buhuhu" and when he has not a soul, he just mean. Not fun or anything, just mean.

And then there is Xander: All right, he is funny sometimes - but he is not so hansom.

Riley: makes me fall a-sleep.

The only one I really like is: Spike. But also here is there uno problemo. I`ve seen in "fool for love", that he - before he became a vampire - was a real sensitive guy, and now I hope - with all my heart - they don`t make him one again. It would be hard to bare. Please, if anyone can hear my prayer: Please, do not make Spike some sensitive, boring guy. Please, don`t.

Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000)
thanks.

This series has just started on danish television, but - although I`ve only seen a few episodes - that it`s nice finally to see a series about teenagers where you can relate to how the characters looks and acts.

I mean, if you see "Popular" even the uncool teens are goodlooking. In this show you can look at almost everyone and remember someone like that from your own school.

Beside that, it`s also sooooooooo good seeing a series, where they don`t have that plastick-like love for each other. It`s nice every single episode doesn`t end with a big grupe-hug, that makes you wanna throw up.

If you´re - just like me - have trouble with all those honnysweet series, then see it. It`ll help. A bit.

Pearl Harbor (2001)
I cried ...
10 July 2001
I know people say it`s not that good. Some may say the love story is bad.

But when I saw it in the movies, I got, what I came for. I cried my eyes out through almost the whole movie, and the next day I couldn`t stop thinking about it. So go see it - it`s not that bad after all!! And the bombing - "great" made!!!!

worth seeing - not buying!
4 June 2001
In danish we call the film : kongen, elskerinden og hendes mand - in english that is : the King, the Mistress and her Husband. And I don`t think that name gives justice to the movie. It`s really an o.k. movie, not so good that I would consider buying it, but it`s worth seeing. 5/10.

A bit to ´magic`.
28 May 2001
My general problem with this movie is: I think it`s a piece of junk. Sure, it maybe is a kind of romantic and sweet story - but how sweet can it be, when the two main characters (Hanks and Ryan) only really meet when it ends???? The rest of the time they only talk about : "Meeting the special someone - the one and only". You can`t help yourself, but getting tired and maybe a bit sick of it.

No matter how much people say that it`s a chick`s movie, I must deny. Although I like films like "French Kiss" and I read Jane Austen, I also like action and fantasy, and this movie is no,nay, never going to be one of my favourits. 3/10.

Armageddon (1998)
"Leaving on a jetplane, don`t know when I`ll be back again ..."
22 May 2001
I wouldn`t say, I dislike the film. I wouldn`t say, I don`t want to see it again. I wouldn`t say, I didn`t cry a bit, when I saw it. I wouldn`t say, I didn`t think: "come on, come on - you can do it" at the most exciting moments of the film. It`s just that they don`t mix the different kind of emotions (humor, drama, action) as well.

The main story is about a giant meteor on the way to destroy the world. Surprise, surprise for NASA that had no idea. They come up with an idea as fast as they can - They want a team of astronauts up there to dick a hole and plant a bomb, that should break the meteor into pieces.

But who could train the astronauts, so they would be good enough, to do the job? None other than Harry S. Stamper. But he takes one look at the crew of astronauts, and think : "ah,ah those mama`s boys can`t take it." So he decites to take his own crew. And what a wonderful crew.

I love the most characters in this movie. Specialy the crew. Man, just to think of Rockhound, Bear, Oscar and not to mension the russian astronaut, Lev. A.J. Frost aka Ben Affleck is always handsome.

I think, I must give the film: 6/10

The Young Ones (1982–1984)
absolutely CRAZY!
10 May 2001
Seeing this series the first thing you think about is: what kind of sick and twisted mind has made this???!! The location for these stories is England, where four students from Scumbag college lives in a house. They have no money at all, and their underwear can walk on its own. Sometimes a total maniac (Alexei Sayle) comes to visit. If you`re just a little bit tired, of all the serious series and movies you have got to see this. It`s lovely.

DragonHeart (1996)
Buy it!
7 May 2001
I can honestly say that this is one of the movies, I have seen the most times. I like it because Dragonheart is a movie that both contains very funny episodes and a sad ending - It`s hard not to cry.

If you like fantasy movies and laughing and crying - Don`t think twice, just buy i`t!

One of the best TV-series I Have ever seen.
18 March 2001
Surely, I have seen every single episode, and I must say, that it`s one of the best series, I have ever seen. In the start I wondered, what would happened in the next episode.

There was always something new.

The series is about a special group of policemen (and women), that goes undercover in public schools as teenagers.

It`s worth seeing - It`s really something for itself.
