Them: Covenant II. (2021)
Absolutely underrated!
In my opinion, this is probably one of the best episodes of the series. Not only is not just "filler", but it is beautifully crafted. I loved the story from start to finish and I feel like it was necessary to add a strong background for the man with the black hat.
Before this episode I wasn't sure about the rules of the universe in which the story takes place, but now I know.
It's a 9/10 for me!
Explained (2018)
Point out the bias!
I see a lot of people talking about bias and "left-wing" propaganda but they never point out whstever it is that they consider biased or untrue. I've seen almost all of the episodes by now and I can't believe all these people and I watched the same show. It's sad how, for some people, anything that questions their reality or perspective is deemed as propaganda.
Unsane (2018)
Loved it! Just some few things to have in mind...
I just had to write this review because I feel like this film is so underrated! It has a great acting and dialogue, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and does not disappoint with its ending.
However, I do have to point out a few thinks that I didn't like and almost made me rate this film a 7. In the end I gave it an 8 because I took into consideration the fact that this movie was made with an Iphone 7 camera, which to me seems pretty impressive. Also, I kind of wanted to try and move the ratings up a little.
So, let's get into the few things that I disliked:
1. The music.
It was, for me, the worst element of the film. It seemed quite unnecessary and even annoying at times. It did not go well with the atmosphere of the movie, in my opinion.
2. Some of the takes in the first half of the movie.
It just seemed like some camera angles were... off?...wrong...? I don't know how to describe it without spoiling anything but at times it seemed like the director made a horrible effort at trying to give an odd/unexpected perspective of the scene.
3. The final shot. I hoped for something more special about the last thing we see from this story. Maybe some deep stare into the camera, some amazing shot or dialogue... I don't know, it kind of felt like something big was building up but nothing actually happened.
And that's it, although my review focuses on the bad bits, the movie was really great. It just seemed easier to talk about the not so good parts, for they are not many.
