Casablanca (1942)
cool
Very long drove forward watch this the film. Simply regarded impossible for themselves not to familiarize themselves with such reinforced concrete classics. I was constantly faced with the mention somewhere of this film or quotes from it. In General, it happened. The beginning was delayed immediately and seemed promising, but somehow unexpectedly quickly came the final scene and the film ended. From the point of view of emotional coloring, the movie is very pleasant, there are moments for reflection in the aftertaste. In terms of expectations-Casablanca did not meet my expectations. The biggest disappointment is the lack of epicness, which was suspected thanks to the presence of three Oscars, universal gasps and comparisons with such a masterpiece of cinema as " gone with the wind."
the film is interesting, with a "tasty" game of actors. Dialogues me jobs indeed admired, sake of them can be even indulge, having revised picture still times, but in a whole the film leaves impression virtuoso theatrical setting. Ah there is no in offense scope, of course this not pulling on 3 Oscar, maximum on 1 nomination (what You will anywhere). Do discount only on the, that this 1942 year, and means, first, glance society on things implemented through prism of occurring in the time global events global scale in history humanity, and second, modern man extremely difficult assess perception of this Turing people, living in forties s and not who knew 3D, i-Phone, Avatar, Titanic, from Africa, Indochina, Millionaire from slums, Irreversibility (write directly on etc.
Another era, another world, another us.

Psycho (1960)
cool
Since the greatness of such a Director as Alfred Hitchcock can be said endlessly, then I, perhaps, focus my attention on acting. Psycho is definitely a Thriller with a capital letter. It is indisputable that it is quite difficult to judge the films that have passed through time, because of our impregnation with the culture of modern cinema. In addition, many Hitchcock classics may seem quite ordinary black and white picture. This happens to people whose eyes fundamentally do not perceive black and white classics. I must say that they lose a lot. Me same this the film hit immediately.
In General, I tend to evaluate the film, first of all, from the point of view of acting. I would like to highlight Anthony Perkins ' performance. Let me remind you that his hero is a psychopathic killer who lives as a hermit, creating even more fear about his image. It is necessary to pay tribute that such an image of the main characters of horror films, in turn, is often used in modern horror, which, above all, speaks of the classics of this picture. To be honest, the game Perkins hooked me not childishly. So I watched, literally with my mouth open. This eye that draws you to the screen, monotonous and at the same time sharp movements that speak about his unstable psyche of his character and cause a contradictory first impression, the famous smile - all these details, observed by both Hitchcock and Perkins, deserve praise. And what the film's production and acting do together is difficult to describe in words. I am a fan of non-standard acting. Expressiveness and emotionality used by actors is alien to me. Most of all in the game I like realism, when purely individual qualities of the actor help him not to overplay, that is, to adhere to the Golden mean. Perkins, for the most part, manages to intrigue the viewer thanks to his incredible male charm.
As for the work of Vera miles, the role of the weaker sex in A. Hitchcock is, first of all, the embodiment of femininity, which brings its unique charm to the picture, and therefore, speaking about her game it is difficult to find fault or comment on something. Women are an integral part of Hitchcock thrillers, and to me, her acting is no different from that of grace Kelly or Joan Fontaine. In his works, they act on a special pattern-either in danger or in the arms of a man. Thus, women in his films are an integral attribute, but not the basis.
Speaking of the film as a whole-it is certainly a masterpiece. It's all so coherent, clear and while watching there is a strange feeling that you-not the only observer, for the most part, because of the use of unusual angles. And, of course, the saddest thing that makes me think about this kind of classic is that such films are one of a kind and some techniques in modern cinema are no longer used.
American History X (1998)
cool
Reviewing the film from time to time, I always find it a wonderful example of street, state and family drama.
Amazing game Edward Norton does not break away from the screen and makes you feel a sense of presence among what is happening.
The storyline... this is reality, as they call it. You seem to know everything and everyone that flashes and happens in this picture.
The ending of the film makes you hold your breath, pushing you, as if into an abyss, with the reality of what happened. Everything in this film deserves the highest praise.
The destruction of the family, the street and the state-all this permeated
Modern Times (1936)
cool
One of the best films of all time presents the Mature art of Charlie Chaplin in all its glory.
It is in this film, as in "Lights of the big city" sounds the most violent protest Chaplin against social injustice, inequality, unemployment and ... new times. Chaplin did not like the new times. He didn't like the sound. He didn't recognize color. He hated faceless Assembly-line production and the ruthless machine of business, all of which he made fun of in his film.
"New times" are relevant now, because since then little has changed. Not has changed only Chaplin, his films modicum and have become angrier, sharper. tougher, but still they are still good. sentimental, cheerful, full of optimism and faith in a better future, no wonder this picture, the last time in Chaplin's career
Motherless Brooklyn (2019)
cool
Lionel Essrog, a lonely private detective with Tourette's syndrome, decides to start an investigation into the murder of his mentor and only friend Frank Minna. He has only a few clues and the power of a mind obsessed with the goal to unravel the tangle of carefully hidden secrets that keep the balance of power in new York city itself. The investigation takes him to the jazz clubs of Harlem, where gin flows like a river, the dangerous slums of Brooklyn and, finally, the gilded halls of the political elite of the metropolis. He challenges gangsters, corruption and the most dangerous man in the city to clear his friend's name and save a woman who can save himself.
Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)
cool
When I started watching this film, I thought that I would not see anything quite interesting. But as it turned out, I was wrong.
The film was simply stunning, with LAUGHTER. It's something with something, nothing like I've seen before. Before, we were always stuffed with horror movies about zombies. In the root of the are tired of. But not this movie. Even if you look only at the zombies, the smile itself spreads.
That's what fans of black humor have been missing for so long. This Is Zombieland.
The film has everything: humor, and action, and horror (though not terrible), and many, many, many lots of meat, and, of course, love.
The Addams Family (2019)
cool
"The Addams family" is actually a display of Halloween, a story about a surprisingly dark, terrifying and frightening family, where everything extraordinary at the time is considered traditional and conventional.
Of course, our generation grew up on such films as "the Addams Family", as well as "the Addams family Values", which can be considered a reference in its lineup, which at least proves the interest in the cartoon.
The Addams are always associated with a deep commitment to family traditions and an ardent love for anything that, by accident or not, leads to death.
I am afraid to disappoint anyone, however, the creation of 2019 will not receive proper evaluation of both film critics and fans of modern cinema.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)
cool
To the 60th anniversary of the cartoon "Sleeping beauty" the world saw the film "Maleficent: mistress of Darkness", - the continuation of the fairy tale about the evil sorceress who bewitched the Princess. More than 4 years, the audience was waiting for the release of the picture. But their hopes, unfortunately, are in no hurry to be justified.
The familiar cast (Angelina Jolie, Elle fanning, Sam Riley) was joined by Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, ed Skrein and others. Their impressive existence in the characters is better perceived apart from the whole picture. In light of the fact that any work of art is always conceived for a holistic perception, this is not the most pleasant fact. Everything else on their background is perceived quite mixed.
Joker (2019)
cool
It is impossible to characterize this film otherwise. This is a work of art, thought out in detail and filmed. The film can not be liked, does not cause a desire to revise it, but you admire it. Despite all the tragedy, all the pain that is contained in each frame, the film really admires. Although most of the reviews, both critics and viewers, are positive, there are fierce disputes about the film: someone does not like it decisively, someone sees in the film only the Joker, the villain opposing Batman. For me, this film is primarily about people, about the need to always treat everyone humanely. "No one owes anyone anything," I don't dispute that phrase, but even without doing anything good to a person, you can be kind to them the second your lives cross.
"The Joker" is a one-man story, as frightening as it is realistic. Everything in this film is natural. By saying "naturally" I don't condone the cruelties that the
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Cool
At the box office, the sequel to "the Shining" is an adaptation of Stephen king's novel "Doctor Dream" from Director Mike Flanagan. Promos of the film did not make it clear until the end what exactly Flanagan continues-a novel by king or a film by Kubrick. The author generously scatters references to both the first and the second, but still the state of the overlook hotel tells us that it is the film that continues.
Grown-up Danny Torrence (Ewen McGregor) first follows in the footsteps of his father-becomes an alcoholic, and then ties. After that, he becomes an orderly in a hospice, where with the help of his "radiance" he helps people to go to the other world with peace in their souls. Danny meets a young Abra (Kylie Curran), "shining" brighter than anyone, who is hunted by a group of "glow-eating" vampires.
Ukh ty, govoryashchaya ryba! (1983)
WTF???
These crazy Russian guys know how to surprise! I thought that only guys from the Netherlands can shoot such anime after they love to smoke weed. But hell, this film was made long ago in councils, where people were even sent to prison who smoked weed. This film was shown to me by one of my new friends, whose parents had long left for emigration from the Soviets when there was a hateful regime of military tyranny and the Cold War. Monster frames change very quickly and I did not even have time to understand what is drawn on the screen. The monster was just disgusting and did not want to look at it for a long time. In general, everything that this crocodile turned into is not clear and there is little similarity with real animals, the only thing that was very similar in one frame to a gorilla. I don't understand why it was necessary to shoot so many shots about monsters and it was impossible to draw it once, but more believable. The director of this film is probably a mentally ill person with a crazy fantasy. Then it became generally not clear what was happening on the screen. The monster comes to an elderly couple home and meets there with a fish boy who wants to save a fisherman. The fish boy begins to distract the monster from a middle-aged couple and tells his story. Here begins the real madness of the director's psycho. There were no subtitles in the film and my friend translated it to me, he knows Russian from his parents. He paused the DVD so often that it would explain the whole nightmare, and I really thought that he would break the DVD. I got the opinion that my friend is as crazy as a director when he started telling me a monologue of a fish guy. This is complete crazy nonsense! What did the Russians want to show in this film? Are they so sick that they would make such films? What nonsense? For whom did they make this film, for children of psychos or for parents of psychos? This craziness can only be understood by Russians. My friend laughed out loud at this. I do not recommend watching. Wasted time.
