RIP to a legend
3 January 2022
Just rewatched this as SNL re-aired it as a tribute to Betty White. Easily one of the best episodes in the show's history. Rarely do I laugh out loud at a sketch, let alone every single sketch. RIP!

A couple chuckles and that's it.

Obviously not every episode needs to be hilarious, but this episode didn't have much to offer at all. It didn't even have many jokes, funny or not. Not bad but not great.

Anyone complaining about politics is wrong.
2 December 2021
From LITERALLY EPISODE 1, It's Always Sunny has touched on political issues. Only now are "fans" upset, probably due to the deeply divided political state of the US. You're totally justified to not enjoy it, however saying "the show is too political now" is just false.

Unique and intentional.
26 November 2021
This movie has one of the most unique tones I've seen. All the performances were good (even Amy Schumer...) with Richard Jenkins and Jayne Houdyshell being the standouts. Fantastic cinematography, editing, and pretty great directing. This is the first thing this director has made, and I'll definitely be checking out his future projects.

Good episode but

I don't really understand why they're making fun of Joaquin Phoenix. In case you didn't know, Woody Harrelson's speech in the episode is Joaquin Phoenix's speech verbatim. It'd be less weird if it were just a generic liberal speech, but singling him out by repeating it word for word felt kinda weird.

A bunch of music videos.
29 September 2021
"The film." Nope. Sorry. It's a collection of music videos VERY loosely connected through VERY short scenes of dialogue. The music videos are pretty good, but let's not pretend this is anything more than a compilation.

The Joe Rogan Experience (2009 Podcast Series)
7/10
Great interviewer, not a smart guy.
20 September 2021
Joe Rogan is a fantastic interviewer. He always allows the guest to speak, feel comfortable, and often gets really interesting conversations out of people you wouldn't expect are that interesting. This however is also a negative. Due to his enthusiasm for interesting people and conversations, he sacrifices some morality to achieve it. Having conspiracy theorists and far right political figures (I'd criticize far left too, but he doesn't have them on his show) on the podcast only harm. Joe also loves to talk about how unsafe the vaccine is, then proceeds to intake untested medical methods when he contracted covid. Not to mention calling mask wearers names.

Would I give it a 1/10? Nah. I just rated it that to stand out to be able to show people why some don't love the show. In all honesty, when Joe isn't talking politics or current events, it's pretty entertaining. But when he is, avoid.

Norm Macdonald was a comedy giant. This episode does not disappoint. I still go back to his bit about Cosby and hypocrisy. Hilarious. He will be missed... Norm. Not Cosby.

No 1/10 reviews....
25 May 2021
Hmmm.... Interesting.... As of now there are zero 1/10 reviews. Would they just review bomb this season cause they wanted more Dev? No... they wouldn't do that! I wonder why none of them actually explained giving this episode a 1/10. I also wonder why if you removed all the 1/10 ratings, the average would be a 9.3! Hmmm....

People are narrow minded and stubborn.
23 May 2021
If you're looking for a feel good comedy, this isn't it. But if you are looking for a great season of television, this is incredible. It's shocking to me just how narrow minded these Master of None "fans" are. Giving it a 1/10 just because it is different. Just because something isn't what you wanted or expected doesn't mean it's not great.

Disgusting

Weird, uncomfortable, pointless, and borderline abusive. I feel dirty after watching this. Am I watching a dog sex cult?

I legitimately think this might be the worst thing I have ever seen on television.

They ruined it.

WandaVision went from a unique, creative show to an average, boring, sci-fi marvel show in just one episode.

What a show.
14 January 2021
This series is so depressing it's hilarious. Louis CK's writing, directing, and acting are all fantastic in this. Steve Buscemi, Edie Falco, and Alan Alda are all really great too. This is such a unique series. The way it's shot and acted feels like a stage play. The longer episodes even have an intermission in the middle. The dialogue is so great. You can tell CK didn't just write his opinions into the characters. Each character has a unique personality and their own opinions. There are opinions that are validly presented in a serious that I know that CK strongly disagrees with (IE people being pro-Trump). This is probably the most "real" show out there. It is absolutely not for everyone, but if you are looking for dialogue driven TV and enjoy depressing topics, I highly recommend Horace and Pete.

Sad to see Adam Sandler in this.
8 November 2020
No disrespect to anyone who made this film, but after seeing Sandler in Uncut Gems, it saddens me to see him still do this kind of work. He's a terrific actor, and I just hope his talents won't be wasted on films like this. A few funny bits, like how the kids progressively threw worse and worse things at him as the movie went on, but the majority of this movie was pretty lifeless.

Amazing short film. Very rewatchable. The short may seem confusing, but the ending explains it, leaving you satisfied and heartbroken. 10/10.

The most important movie ever made.
27 October 2020
If I had to choose a movie to represent what it is to be alive, I would choose 2001: A Space Odyssey. This movie covers every aspect perfectly. To those who don't understand this movie's message: I beg you to talk to someone about the film, then rewatch it. This movie changed my life.

Ignore the guy who says this is brainwashing.
27 October 2020
This episode wasn't very funny, but please ignore the moron who called it "brainwashing children." The episode literally pokes fun at how younger generations are trying to get people to uproot their lives for the environment. Despite them poking fun at this, they still share a positive stance on the fact that we need to do something about climate change. If you think that saying climate change is real is brainwashing, maybe you were born 200 years too late.

Sterling K Brown carries the show at this point.
26 October 2020
For me, Sterling K Brown's performance is the only thing that has stayed consistently great throughout the series. I feel the show should have ended a couple years ago, as the story seems to be dragging on now.

Taxi Driver gone wrong.
25 October 2020
It shocks me how bad this is. Joker had a much better representation of mental illness, and Taxi Driver had a much better representation of society screwing over someone.

Not as scary as I thought it'd be.
25 October 2020
Not to say scary is better, but this movie left a shorter impression on me than Robert Eggers' other film, The Lighthouse, which is one of my favourite films of all time. The acting, dialogue, and music were all great in this film. However, at least upon my first viewing, I don't see many themes or overarching morals/ideas as I do in The Lighthouse. Something interesting I noticed is that it shares a lot of parallels with Midsommar, but with many aspects flipped. Instead of being indoctrinated, they're exiled. Instead of it being eternal day during summer, most of the horror takes place at night in winter. Instead of the evil coming from within the group, it's an external threat. Instead of beautiful visuals, it's drab and unsaturated. The VVitch also reminded me a lot of Hereditary, mostly in story arch and the ending. However, I know The VVitch came out before both of these films, so perhaps they took inspiration from The VVitch. This is still a solid movie though, and was unnerving in several parts, but seeing The Lighthouse first may have skewed my expectations a bit too high. If you like this movie, I couldn't recommend Midsommar or Hereditary enough.

Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too (2019)
Season 5, Episode 3

Not as bad as everyone says.
25 October 2020
People seem to have mistaken the intentional tone change as "childish", but I think they're missing the point. It's definitely not the best Black Mirror episode, by a long shot even, but its lighter tone is a criticism of the subject matter: children's music and entertainment. Also, to those who say there are no important themes/messages in this episode, struggle of making something you're proud of compared to something that will sell is a huge dilemma to all artists. This episode obviously takes it to the extreme, in full Black Mirror fashion, but it's roots and intentions are still prevalent.

This is more than a hilarious comedy. This exposes the racist and intolerant underbelly of America, possibly more effectively than the original film.
