Dangerous Lies (2020)
Truly Bad
This movie seems to have been written by someone who has never had real adult responsibility and has little to no understanding of the way the real world works. None of the dialog is believable. The characters are shallow and unrelatable. Sooooo weak.

Let's turn Earth into a Giant spaceship -- That's the ticket
So the concept, while completely ridiculous, could be done in a compelling way with the right story. The movie sunshine for example. But for the watcher, the story has to be so compelling, that we don't have time to remember things like: there is no explanation why the sun suddenly turns homicidal; the amount of force needed to move a planet far exceeds our capacity to produce in anything close to the near term; moving something that large, that quickly would likely tear it apart, or at a minimum, make it permanently uninhabitable; gravity is only present to service the plot and/or the budget; what the heck is everyone eating during the journey ***sigh*** Bright spot was certainly the visuals, just not enough of a distraction,, WAIT,, WHAT ABOUT THE MOON
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Fantastic
Subtle, poignant plot. No heavy agenda pushing. An intriguing mystery. Beloved characters. Fantastic acting all around. What more could a nerd ask for.
Ad Vitam (2018)
Creative Concept
This was a nice change of pace in a sea of shows crowded with recycled plots and reboots.
The execution and writing is a little sloppy in places, but if the series gets picked up, I see that evaporating as the cast and crew gel.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
Great production. Great Directing. Fantastic acting. Horrific Writing
Today's entertainment landscape is an interesting place. There are so many shows with fantastic writing, but suffer from poor production, poor directing or substandard acting. This show has all positive marks in those categories which makes this show is so frustrating. There is obviously a great deal of talent in front of and behind the camera.
This is a perfect example of the perilous echo chamber that the creative community in Hollywood has become.
There is no excuse for me or anyone else to give this a sub 7 rating other than how forced all of the writing is.
The thing that made shows like the original Twilight Zone and Star Trek a beacon for equality was that they made the issues they were addressing a subtlety of the overall plot. They served as an anchor point to argue a point or perspective, but to an ignorant viewership, it wouldn't even occur to them that the two men's faces being opposite each other was an illusion to the ridiculousness and terrible end to racism (which if you haven't ever seen 'Let That Be Your Last Battlefield' from Star Trek the Original Series you should stop what you are doing and watch it right now).
To the Writers:
IT IS SO CLOSE TO GOOD,,, PLEASE SUBTLETY,, We don't need the social issues spoon fed, have it be a discrete plot point that the user has to think about to digest the illusion.
The Feed (2019)
Well written and executed with an engaging concept.
Other than a handful of scenes where the writers used tropes, the show was well written and executed with an engaging concept.
