Good show ruined with an unsatisfactory conclusion
23 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this show I liked the acting and storytelling the only thing I disliked was the medicore ending its so abrupt and unsatisfying it leaves you saying wait thats it so there's no resolution whatsoever we see blackthorn a frail old man in bed so we know he got out of Japan but honestly not seeing the battle between the 2 armies was a let down I think they didn't show it because they ran out of money honestly the ending makes watching this a waste of time hollywood doesn't have a clue how to end a series proper I mean the way it was told that this would be ishidos fate was so flat and uninteresting I would not recommend you watch this.

Monster (2004–2005)
8/10
A thrilling work of art
8 April 2024
Let's face it most anime is trash childish plot goofy characters nothing is taken seriously but fortunately monster doesn't follow for the trappings of anime it is one of the best pieces of animation I've seen in my lifetime the story got me hooked from beginning to end I just finished the ending as of this review while it was a little lacking I enjoyed the journey overall which is full of twist and turns Johan is easily one of the best written villians of all time and tenma is a likeable decent man on the run framed for murder lunge the cop hounding him is a werido but I like him nonetheless honestly all the characters were so well written even Nina who has severe ptsd from the horror she witnessed at a certain mansion I cant recommend this enough and for those who are curious wtf those images mean at the end of the episodes you'll be pleasantly surprised it all ties in together.

Hard Boiled (1992)
9/10
John woos masterpiece
2 April 2024
The opening of hard boiled is better than the crap that hollywood had churned out for the past 10 years this is a film that was made on a 5 million dollar budget and it's better than every Hollywood film that's come out with inflated budgets of up to 200 million dollars this film alone is more entertaining I mean there's people out there who haven't seen this film I kind of pity them because something this great I would of killed to see it on the big screen in all its glory I doubt it ever had a theatrical release in the states but if ever there was a film to be re released in cinemas I'd gladly take my family to watch this masterpiece.

This movie was thrill ride from start to finish guy Ritchie has done it once again just a great director who knows how to film intense action the story of this film got me emotionally involved its about honor and brotherhood a soldier paying back a debt to a comrade who not only saved his life but also carried him in a wagon of sorts all across the desert while he was wounded while being hunted by the Taliban there was never a dull moment throughout the entire running time of this film jake and the man who played Ahmed did a terrific job in their roles they just knocked it outta the park even if you dont enjoy war films watch this its a great action thriller with a solid story cannot recommend this film enough easily the best of 2023 the covenant simple blew away.

The Octagon (1980)
8/10
Chuck norris best film
30 April 2023
The octagon is my favourite norris film I just think this is the perfect film which showcases him as a martial artist and has some of the best fight scenes put on film it has a unique plot with ninjas being trained as mercenaries by a former comrade turned villain of norris what strikes one about this film is the camera is kept steady no quick cuts or edits it's all there for the eye to see not only is chuck an exceptional martial artist Richard Norton a fellow Aussie is birllant as the underboss to sakura he's really intimating and the fight between him and chuck is just great I love how he hisses like some demon but what I particularly love about this film is how it builds to the ending chuck norris taking on a entire ninja clan in just pure bada$$ery is awesome to see but what isn't awesome is the director unfortunately never made another film after this Eric karson did a fantastic job directing this film which to me Is a classic if you enjoy martial arts action check this out.

The pope takes a Merda
16 April 2023
Merda is the world that comes to mind when I finished watching this pos movie. It is such cringe that this little kid had ridiculous voice not once was I scared neither were the theatre goers who were watching alongside me this is bad movie period but hollywood has no new ideas and is creatively bankrupt a much better film than this was made in the 70s its called the omen watch that instead of this you'll be saving 90 minutes of your life by watching a much better fill with a better director and actor and I also love how demons can do all this freaky stuff move people with their minds but they somehow just cannot get out of bed.

Go home
13 March 2022
This film is like nostalgia bait the movie that's all it features besides a paper thin story the mcu spider man is by far the worst it's spider man in name only no uncle Ben in this universe instead its aunt may who's a milf now because reasons and when she said the line I cringed you completely erased the whole purpose of spider man which is that he was a selfish jerk and with the death of uncle Ben he changed his ways yet they don't even acknowledge uncle Ben in 3 movies and people want to say Holland is the best really? Baffles me these films are really dumb all marvel films are I belive they use humour to disguise the fact they have no story its the marvel formula you put all the mcu movies on 20 TV's and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference they're all the same everyone's a comedian.

Meh
2 January 2022
If you've watched the special features on all the DVDs you'd still find out nothing new in this its actually shocking I thought at the end they were gonna get the actors and directors all together in the great hall and talk but no you just get little snippets of information nothing you haven't heard before and of course stock footage of jo Rowling from 2019 heck you could of used the stock footage for most everyone and it wouldn't have made a difference this was lacklustre.

Brillant dark Gothic horror
29 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show was fantastic it was dark violent but had a real heart to it with brody playing the protective father trying to save his family from the vampires curse it was really disheartening when loa one of the children dies and you can just feel the pain the expression on adrien brodys face thats something no father should ever have to go through all of actors especially the children were great in this its well crafted story that takes it time and doesn't lead where you think it's going to go with the father going axe crazy like the shining which of course the short story this was based by Stephen kings Jerusalem lot but they subvert that by having him fight these vampires Stephen who were his next of kin responsible for murdering 2 of the preachers children but theyre nothing compared to Jacob who was truly terrifying this world in which he and his cult win would mean annihilation for the human race they litreally blot out the sun but the ending to this show was really tragic especially the guilt Stephen feels towards loa for having her failed her as a parent really resonated with me emotionally I genuinely cared for the Boone family and their plight.

Haunting of melodramas
29 September 2021
Boring self indulgent tripe is the words that come to mind when I think of this show how the heck is this soo overrated must be paid shills honestly none of the characters were remotely likeable or interesting in the slightest I despised each family member and hoped for death of each of them and the scares were non existent make no mistake this has jack to do with horror its a boring family drama about a family that you wish could be hit by a truck stuff this show you want a real horror show watch chapelwaite it's superior to this pretentious pile of horse manure.

A boring pos
15 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film started off rather dull and the big twist is the woman is the psycho not the husband I didn't give a damn about any of this I wasn't emotionally invested whatsoever the only saving grace of this entire film was bill burr as the caller he was hilarious honestly he could've saved this film from the dreariness of it because this was as interesting as watching telemarketers work.

Decent first part
21 June 2021
Its better than most of these direct to video animated features so far because of the fact that this is a mystery thats intriguing I read the comic around 10 years ago so I don't know what's gonna happen next it leaves you with fresh eyes but the voice cast here all around did a surprisingly good job look forward to part 2.

Wrath of Man (2021)
8/10
The fury of a patient man
11 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Just saw this film last night and it's not a mindless action film which is what I thought it would be its more dark mature statham is brillant as always in these roles he fits the mold here he plays a man who has his son murdered by a team of elite bank robbers who in the end turn out to be former army officers who turned bad for the profits of course which I like there's no convoluted reasoning behind their actions they just want money the best action scenes were at the depot in which everything goes wrong and alot of people die including characters who have no bearing on the plot but still it was nice to see them being taken down instead of everyone living at the end but the main baddie played by Scott Eastwood is a ruthless psychopath who in turn kills his former comrades I like the way guy Ritchie told the story through the use of flashbacks it didn't bother me at all but this film was far more realstic than I expected because there is no joy at the end sure he kills the sob who murdered his son but it felt empty which I liked overall if you're a fan of action movies don't miss wrath of man.

Still waiting for it to get funny
6 March 2021
This is a pure example of you can't catch lightning in a bottle the original film was funny as heck this on the other hand was beyond dreadful im actually envious someone got paid to write this junk seems like a pretty easy job to me but as we all know Eddie Murphy hasn't been funny or relevant in decades so this is his last hurrah after decades of garbage but instead of going out in a bang it's a faint whisper

Grade A Bs
22 January 2021
Its high quality bs with great acting but bs all the same the prison camp in this film is like kindgarten compared to the real thing in reality there was no Yankee the majority of prisoners were either British or Australian and they were tortured and if they didn't work they were beaten to death by the Japanese soldiers there were no strikes thousands of men died by dysentery and the living conditions were beyond abhorrent and if a character such as Alec's actually existed he would of been murdered in his sleep by fellow soldiers for conspiring with the enemy but hopefully one day a remake can be made showing the true horrors these men went through at the hands of the Japanese

We All Have It Coming
4 October 2020
This is not only the greatest western ever made this is imo one of the greatest films ever made perfect acting brillant score composed by clint Claudia's theme which is a really touching melody for such a violent film but unlike other westerns the violence isn't glamorised there is no senseless killing every person that munny has killed haunts him in his dreams he isn't a good man but when he tires to be good he fails his farm has pigs that have fever hes living in poverty with 2 kids its only when he goes back to what he does best killing is when he is financially successful and in some term achieving a redeeming character arc from killer to businessman kinda like Wyatt earp but what strikes me the most is his wife we litreally no nothing about this woman but she managed to tame this man who people have called cold blooded but in the shooting scene he tells others to clear the way of the range of his shotgun when he kills skinny which really shows those stories about him exaggerated had he done bad things yes but he wasnt Satan himself and that brings me to bill played brilliantly by Hackman hes a complete sadist he seems to enjoy taking immense pleasure beating people he beats up 2 people who are defenceless against him English Bob and will himself which was much more worse considering he was ill now bill wasn't a coward but he was evil hes the most realistic depiction of a lawman at that time if you watch docos on the subject of the wild west most sheriff's were formerly criminals it takes a thief to catch thief and the whipping of ned is a brutal scene this a man who hasn't killed anyone but was killed for the actions of his partner every death in the film has consequences and the death of ned leads to will killing bill and his deputies this is a film that is violent and poetic and its the last western he ever made instead of riding off into the sunset he rides off into a torrential rain

Superman (1978)

The one true superman
11 September 2020
Christopher reeve will forever be the best live action superman because he was 100% true to the character unlike the current iteration which completely destroyed everything great about this legendary hero in this film superman is a beacon of hope always willing to help out humanity putting others before himself hes the epitome of a selfess hero and to me why he's the greatest super hero of all time he had a good childhood with loving parents who gave him his moral compass and actually encouraged him to help people in need my favourite scene by far in this film is when he saves lois its the most epic moment in film history when he catches lois with one hand and the helicopter with the other and with Williams brillant score just elevates the scenes into the stratosphere we see glimpses of the citizens of metropolis actually happy to see superman something no one is today because dc has ruined this great character by turning him into a batman clone what set superman apart from batman is that superman is optimistic and batman is pessimistic by turning him into a batman clone they essentially ruined everything great about this character so if you're tired of a depressing emo superman watch this film it will take you back to a time when superman stood for truth justice and the American way

Decent episode
30 August 2020
This episode begins with the crew beaming down to a planet with alien life forms that seize command of the enterprise they have these devices like belt buckles that render a person immobile thats the basic premise but the fun of this episode lies in how they outsmart them scotty by hilariously using booze to make one of them drunk and kirk by seducing the female alien and getting the leader angry enough at him to basically turn them human overall this is worth a watch

By far the superior version
29 August 2020
I never cared for all the slapstick in the original superman 2 I thought it was childish and did a great disservice to the seriousness of the situation that 3 super powered beings were taken over the planet this cut thankfully takes all that garbage out its a far better movie for it also the scenes in the original with the mother make 0 sense so thankfully we get to see the scenes with brando and they're much better but the best addition is a scene between lois and Clark when he destroyed the fortress theres a really touching scene between the 2 of them its well acted and honestly if donner was kept on as director i think the best thing would be to have everything not revresed but have clark and lois develop this relationship now that she can never truly be with him but alas thats just a dream that will never come to fruition but I enjoyed this film immensely reeve will always be the best live action version of superman

The federation wants its cut
29 August 2020
This is easily one of the best episodes of tos its charming it has a clever script basically what it boils down to is an entire planet has devoted and based their lives on Chicago mob of the 1920s kirk and crew beam down to this planet which has 2 mob bosses both want superior weaponry to wipe out the other in the end they form a syndicate which basically ends the stalemate on the planet it also has some funny moments like when spock chastises kirk for his driving overall one of the best episodes of season 2 well worth a watch

A murder mystery in space!
28 August 2020
This episode is surprisingly well written and executed it begins with Scotty not remembering murdering a woman he left a bar with and kirk and spock basically have to prove his innocence but more women keeping dying around Scotty and he has these blackouts where he remembers nothing eventually its all settled on the ship where the annoying guy with the high pitched voice is intact an evil entity is he jack the ripper its possible considering that more murders throughout history have taken place but the evil entity is vanquished in the end by kirk and crew overall an entertaining premise that works well

28 August 2020
Kirk and the eterpirse crew beam down to a planet full of aarp members and discover that these people who are aged in their 20s have reached elderly age the cause of this is space radiation and eventually a hearing is held to see if kirk is fit for duty considering he has trouble remembering it doesnt go well for him he's relieved of command and the inexperienced commandant takes command and nearly gets everyone vaporised because of his stupidity thankfully Spock develops some concoction to reverse the aging process which allows kirk to take command and save the day
