You get the idea
28 October 2021
You get the idea what they wanted to do here. To put all different aspects of television (news, reality TV, etc.) in a movie and make a bit fun of it.

But it's just too long and everything keeps on repeating itself. If this movie would be one hour shorter, it would be much better in my opinion.

Also: Lea Seydoux cries more in this movie than me at home chopping onions!

A story that connects places with feelings
28 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Paulius and Indres visit a village and retrace the steps of a murder that happened 4 years ago. They visit the house, where the victim was held, they buy the car, where he was put in the trunk and go to all the other places, that where connected to his murder.

This movie is not a classic detective movie. In fact you know everything from the start, who was killed and who did it.

What this movie really is about, is the emotional connection between people and random places. A place can have a big meaning for someone and a smaller meaning or not one at all for someone else.

I think that's the big message of this movie!

This movie will make you cry
28 October 2021
When I went to see this movie, I knew it was gonna be tough, but I didn't imagine it to make me cry that much. The story really goes to the heart.

Also, the child actors did a wonderful job!

What a masterpiece

All time classic!

Up there with the best!

When quentin tarantino broke through with "reservoir dogs" no one knew he had planned his next masterpiece: "Beutolomäus und der geheime Weihnachtsmann" Oscar worthy performance by Beutolomäus and especially the Weihnachtsmann. Should be considered for all film awards in the future.

Brilliant acting but a story full of clichés
1 November 2020
First I gotta say Andrew Garfield is marvelous in this movie. His mimic and his movements are crazy and you're buying every part of his character. Maya Hawk is also good and Jason Schwartzman is solid as always. But now to the movie: the first 30 minutes started off great and I had very high expectations for the rest of the movie. It was funny, interesting and most importantly kind of making fun of influencers and social media. But then, the movie turned in another direction and was only filled with stereotypes like a 2000s high school movie. Suddenly there was only love and jealousy on the one hand, and on the other heartlessness and making big bucks. The movie could've definitely turned out better, but Andrew Garfield safed the day with his acting!
