Blue Beetle (2023)
Rubbish story written by a five years old
If I take a shot everytime something stupid happens on screen, I will be dead drunk already by one hour.
Our protagonists can easily steal important stuffs from the headquarter building of a multi billion company. A weapon manufacturing company! Should I mention that these protagonists are commoners without any thieving or robbery experience?
Next, a dead beat uncle who's unmarried, unemployed, and lives in his brother's living room, is somehow very tech savvy, being able to many incredible stuffs, and drives like Vin Diesel does.
Next, the father figure has just died hours ago, but his family members, which are supposed to love him very much, have all forgotten about him. They are being happy riding in some high tech bee robot and wield cool guns.
Next, a bit overweight scientist guy somehow decides to sacrifice his own life for some young man he has just met. Even if his guilty conscience makes him unwilling to take the man's life, he has zero reason to sacrifice his own life. I will simply watch on the sideline.
Black Adam (2022)
DC should stop making movie
This movie shows that DC should really stop making movies. It's hilariously bad on many level. Also they shouldn't have casted Dwayne Johnson. That guy is obviously still Dwayne no matter what role he is in.
Why would Black Adam throw jokes such as, "I waited for you before dropping those bad guys" or "The man in black said Hi?" This guy was supposed to living a hellish live of a slave his whole life. And it should still feel like yesterday that he lost his child and wife. Why would he listen to a dumb suggestion made by a teenager?
Also a fat man with leg problem and a skinny mom can beat up a lot of skeleton soldiers from hell? A squad of soldiers can take all of them even easier then. How come the world is in crisis?
The main demon is admittedly stronger, but a punch from Superman will send him back to hell in an instant. Also, why did the whole world become nervous from this incident? Did they forget the existence of Justice League? Oh wait, why did our old magician contact and free Dwayne John instead of contacting Superman?
Bad bad movie.
Paper Girls (2022)
Adventure and Mystery, it says.
I said "Snooze Fest". Since I almost fall asleep several times.
I stopped watching after 2 episodes, because nothing really happened, other than some prepubescent girls talking to each other.
Where is the thrill? Where is the maniac murderer or the evil organization? Where's the adventure? When most stuffs on the screen took place in the same old town?
NB: We saw some 'evil people' now and then, but their screen time is probably only 1 percent. Ninety nine percent is girls talking to each other.
Raising Dion (2019)
Good attempt ruined by bad story writing
We are so used to watching adult superheroes and there are only a few that tackles the issue of a normal human raising a superhero kid, so I initially gave this tv series a warm welcome.
But after finishing 2 whole season, this series isn't really good in my humble opinion. It has some decen't acting, not bad CGI, but it's ultimately ruined by bad story writing.
Rather than a superhero, the kid is more like a god in training, without proper explanation. When it comes to all other people with superpower, are stuck with two or three superpowers at maximum. But our kid can basically do anything he wants. Teleportation, telekinesis, controlling lightning, fire and light, healing injuries. Flying. You name it.
The other issue: Almost all males fall in love with the kid's mother upon first meeting. Is she a saint? Is she a madonna or something? Is she spreading pheromone everywhere without knowing. Sigh.
Of course, it's also never explained, after two whole season, how did the meteor shower grant people superpower? Also why is land dying in Iceland? The latter issue not only was never addressed, after 17 episodes. It's even forgotten.
Ji xian feng (2020)
Vanguard is the last hope for Jackie Chan, and it crashed
Jackie is old already, so he should choose wisely, to end his career in high note. Too bad, he starred in a lot of bad movies recently, including this movie.
This movie sucks. The computer effects are so fake and low budget. Jackie's old movie tend to be realistic, he even got hurt a lot while making it. Now it's all fake, even though there are a lot of young actors in this movie which should be able to challenge danger.
The plot itself sucks. Jackie is the CEO of an international security company, yet he has to jump on the battlefields himself every time? What kind of CEO does that? LMAO.
There are many scenes where Jackie refrain from taking lives, yet his subordinates went trigger happy. It's so weird and jarring, considering they are in life and death battle.
Run Hide Fight (2020)
Trust the critics this time, not the commoners
I don't care about what messages a movie want to tell me, I am not a critic myself. But after seeing it myself, this is clearly a very underwhelming movie.
Some moviegoers said that it was thriller. How can it be a thriller when we know nothing about the people who were shot to death? Most of them aren't even named. Also the movie makes it apparent that there's no real threat to heroine's life.
Some said that it was a movie about courage. I am sorry, courage should come with wits, not foolishness. I won't spoil it, but both villain and protagonist are very dumb on so many occasions. The background characters are even more dumb.
Watch it only if you don't have any other choice.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
A joke of a movie
Where did they hire the story writer? Heck, even a high schooler can write better story!
WW can suddenly fly in Superman style even though in the previous movie which took place in 2000s, she can't! She can hook her lasso at lightning bolt?! She can hook her lasso at an airplane which is currently flying? The writer contradicted herself. We have seen it many times that lasso is as heavy as normal rope and can be blown away by wind.
Pedro Pascal acted fine, but the female antagonist is really cringeworthy. And there are a lot of other problems, which will make this review not spoiler free if mentioned.
Army of One (2020)
The cartel made more than two mistakes!
They kep her alive and tied her up with minimal bindings. They guarded our tied up protagonist with only one man. Which can be taken out somehow by a weak untrained woman. They focus on shooting other women and man even though they should focus on the protagonist.
Oh. But it's not just the villains who were dumb. The protagonist and her husband too.
