Wonderful!
10 March 2021
Being a descendant of the real Uhtred The Bold, Earl of Northumbria, I'm really enjoying this show, but not just for that. I came upon it last spring and have watched all 4 seasons 3 times, each time I enjoy it just as much and pick up on details I missed. Of course it's not totally historically accurate. It's based on a series of historical novels and is a drama series. It has prompted me to google what is known about that time and and some of the real characters and the information is spotty at best. I think the show does fine with that. As a drama this show rises above because it has more complex characters with an emotional life. It's this that draws me in and connects with me. Kudos to all the actors, crew, writers and Bernard Cornwell for their brilliant work.

Someone must continue this series!

Maybe Netflix or the original producers would consider this? I think it would be very successful. The English accents were a little odd, but the characters development, acting and story made that easy to overlook. As far as the accuracy of the history, none of us lived during that time so no one really knows everything exactly do they. It's a historical DRAMA. If it was all purely factual I think it would be quite boring. It is close enough. The show did prompt me to investigate the history of that time further. Very well done!

The Way (I) (2010)

What a way!

The Way is an honest and at moment too honest tale of love and loss, of family, and of purpose. With elegant cinematography and brutally honest acting The Way weaves us on a clear path with an urgent yet constantly changing purpose. Mr Estevez managed to weave a brilliantly written story of spirituality without forcing upon us his preachings.

The most disappointing thing about this film is that it will not be seen by a wide audience.

The Way is a piece of cinema that is felt as much as it is seen. With The Way Emelio Estevez can take his rightful place among cinematic greats.

A well told story
23 November 2007
In this day and age of computer generated imagery and stunts above and beyond belief it is so very refreshing to see a film where the actors are allow to act. In this timeless turn by Mr. Davi nothing was placed in front of telling a good story and telling a good story well. Put on top of a good story some fantastic music that does not overwhelm but enhance and you have the recipe for success. This film follows that recipe to a "T". It would be a wonderful turn to see Hollywood take a lesson from Mr. Davi and get back to the art of story telling, and out of the business of shocking us into forgetting that there is no story. Kudos to the actors for their excellent performances and Bravo Mr. Davi for getting the job done and turning a good idea into a brilliant film.
