Ladies of Letters (2009)
Hilarious as you go along - and you can learn tons of Brit slang (some dated!)
I gave up after two minutes of ep 1 but then returned. The payoff was enormous as the show is hilarious. I've had to stop several times to translate random slang. My favorite was "Bronco". I won't say in what context it was used but I finally learned it was a toilet paper brand no longer made but that older people would know. I guess the Bronco is like "Kleenex" when we refer to a tissue.
It gets a bit absurd as the seasons go, but Season 1 is a true delight with both actresses divine.

Wagon Train: The Kitty Angel Story (1959)
Family is Those Who Care
I agree with bkoganbing's assessment that this ep shows how families are made by people who care about each other - blood doesn't matter. I've seen this in several eps and love the overall theme. After seeing this one, I was somewhat wishing those times were here again, when there seemed to be more free agents in the new world who would be open to joining forces with someone they cared about. Sure would be better than an abusive family of origin....
Wagon Train: The Jose Morales Story (1960)
Different from their usual format - I thought I wouldn't like at first but as usual fabulous
The themes Wagon Train covers are so timeless and universal. It's just one of the best shows ever - and one gets a fabulous history lesson (of sorts) in each episode. I never knew Lon was such a good actor. Lee Marvin is his usual blustery character, which works well for Jose's character. The message, not political or crammed down your throat like today's "entertainment" is good too! Definitely stick it through to the end even if you think it's not so interesting at first.
