ANNA is a very uneven film BUT Sally Kirkland's performance is not. Shame that more people didnt see if they did she might have gotten an Academy Award. Fortunately she was nominated.

JULIA is a fine film. Fonda as Hellman is very good as is Robards as Dashell Hammett. But the real prize is the performance of Vanessa Redgrave as Julia. Though her part is small she is absolutely glowing as Julia. Her face is very radiant and she projects so much with her eyes. She is a great actress indeed.

Vanessa Redgrave gives a great one in this film. Though I know very little about the real Isadora Duncan it really does not matter for Redgrave is so thoroughly into her character that we think she is Duncan. Redgrave has to rank as one of the great actresses of our time.

Gerladine Page is truly magnificent in this picture. A great actress who died way too early. Her portrait of the drunk doped out film actress is amazing. Newmna, Begley, Knight are very good indeed but it is Page who is truly great. I never saw her give a bad performance. Thank goodness she won an Oscar just before she died. It was richly deserved.

Sunset Boulevard is a TRUE classic. Holden, Von Strohem and Olsen are very good but it is Gloria Swanson who is astonishing. SHE was another who was robbed of a deserved Best Actress Oscar. She completely submerges into the character of Norma Desmond. Her Chaplin is wonderful, her mannerism are just perfect and the finale is a true classic. GLOIA IS WONDERFUL!

IF you ever want to see a movie that shows how to use the expression of your face for effect THIS is the movie. Miss Wyman who has always shown such class in her life. After all being the first Mrs.Ronald Reagan is not an easy station in this life. She comes across with a touching and beautiful performance that richly earned her an Academy Award. She does get excellent support from Ayres, Bickford, Moorehead BUT it is her movie. Ron and Nancy could never gave half of that kind of performance.

After seeing GWTW for the hundreth time i am still in awe of the performance of Viven Leigh. Ah what an actress. She carries the film and dominates it thoroughly with a passion that few actress would have. While the other cast members are good at best it is Vivien Leigh who is the core of this magnificent film.
