The Killer Inside Me (2010)
What was he saying?
First of all I had such a hard time understanding the mouth full of marbles dialouge that is was hard to concentrate on what was going on. When he wasn't speaking in tongue he was beating the hell out of woman - I'm not sure what was worse! He answered the phone a couple of times with a normal voice and I thought great, but then he drifted right back in to the mono tone whiny drawl. Also when you have a movie thats set in the 50's and you see a modern day 56 Chev Hot Rod go by with Corvette Rally wheels and they are drinking long neck Buds? not much care and attention went in to it. So unless you want to watch a movie that has your head tilted slightly to the side with your eyes squinting as you attempt to understand what he saying, then go for it.
While She Was Out (2008)
Cinematic Masterpiece......
Where to start...Oh yea, Message to the bad guys: When you first find the person you have been tracking (in order to kill) that witnessed a crime you committed, don't spend time talking to her so that she has yet another opportunity to get away. Message to the victim: When the thugs are talking amongst themselves and arguing, take that opportunity to "RUN AWAY", don't sit there and watch them until you make a noise they hear. Message to the Director: if someone has a 5 or 10 minute head start in a vehicle or on foot, you can't have the bad guys on their heels or bumper right away! time and motion doesn't work that way. It would also be nice to think that a woman doesn't have to brutally kill( 4) men in order to empower herself to leave an abusive relationship at home.
Bobby (2006)
Slow Start, Great Finish
Bobby was a very good movie, however, heres my rant. An ongoing 60's soundtrack was a missed opportunity. The movie plays out like "Boogie Nights" meaning micro stories come together at the end to give you a finished product. With Boggie Nights the sounds of the 70's all through the film took you back in time which makes it one of my all time favorite films (same as American Graffitti). Bobby could have done the same thing with ongoing sounds of the 60's especially with 90% of the movie filmed inside, at times you could mistake it for a film set in the 50's. The all star cast comes at you one after the other and all work out well. (I would have liked to have seen Charlie Sheen play Ashtons role) even though he did a very good job of it.
The Aristocrats (2005)
Feel Good Film
I can't UN see what I have seen, . This is the kind of movie you pray to God you don't sit down with your elderly parents and watch..you know a bucket of popcorn as everyone gets comfy sitting on the couch. The DVD starts up and you wait for the movie to begin as the family anticipates what is about to come. Well what is about to come is a bombardment of puke, rape, incest, blood and scat all rolled into one never ending vile joke. You are waiting for it to go somewhere and that somewhere never arrives. The people in this movie can't possibly think it is as funny as they make out it is.So to that I say. lets never speak of it again.
Zoolander (2001)
Under rated comedy duo
First of all Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are a great comedy team that are totally under rated, Zoolander has moments were you will laugh so hard it hurts. Its not perfection but its not near as bad as alot are saying. I loved "Cable Guy" so take that for what its worth.
Get Carter (2000)
Very very bad
Once again the city of Vancouver B.C. has been used to supply the back drop for Seattle, and once again a big time movie has been given the kiss of death because of it. This movie may have stood a chance had it stayed in Las Vegas and not put us to sleep with the rainy Gotham city feel. A convoluted plot and shaky acting also adds to the dismal effect of this flick.
Sunset Strip (2000)
I got sucked in
Well its like this, all I needed to read on the back of the box was "if you like Boogie Nights, you will love this"...NOT. What an excellent idea for a movie, 70's Hollywood club scene and the people trying to break into the biz....to bad it never delivered. Oh and by the way...it says it has a great 70's sound track playing through out? I think I recognized one song.
Neighbors (1981)
Fantastic
First of all let me just say I loved "The Cable Guy", so take this for what it is worth. This is Dan Ackroyds best performance to date and a cult classic for sure....its a great late night movie that makes you laugh and just enough dark humor to disturb you a little.
Best in Show (2000)
Worst On Shelf
This has to be the worst movie I have seen in many years, my wife picked it up on a recomendation that it was a must see with non stop laughs from start to finish.....To hear people compare this disaster to the likes of Spinal Tap in the "mock" catagory disgusts me. I will give this movie one thing...it was filmed in Vancouver(which is always the kiss of death for any flick trying to make money) but nothing could have saved this boring annoying script from making the people who are viewing it glance over at each other every few minutes wondering what the hell they are watching.
