I watched this movie almost a year ago and I still think about it from time to time. It's hard to believe someone could do this to another human being, let alone their child. The acting was very good and they struck a good balance of being true to the horrors of what happened without being too grotesque. You really end up just wanting to see them get out of the basement, which they do. It ends on a good note and you find yourself hoping for these characters future happiness. I truly hope that the real people this was based off of find some semblance of that.

Bad writing, pretty to look at.

The only thing that kept me watching was how impressed I was with the picture for 1967 - bright, vid, and quite sharp. I don't know if I was watching an upgraded version or what but it looked amazing.
Now, the writing - wow, it's really bad. None of the characters make any sense in what they are doing. None of them. They all seem to make the most random and horrible decisions. I could only watch 20 minutes but it kept getting worse and worse. Do not watch more than a couple minutes.

I'm not much of a fan of flying...sitting in a steal tube with strangers and having no control over the situation just isn't my thing.... so, I try to distract myself. For whatever reason, I find when I try to watch a movie it's hard to stay into it. Not with this one though. Being a sequel, I didn't have high expectations. But I laughed out loud numerous times and found myself caring about the characters. They all play off each other so well and Zoey's character (Madison) is a riot. They all played off each other so well. Next thing I knew the movie was coming to an end and we were preparing to land. Perfect!
