A Sense of Guilt (1990)
Superb adaptation of the author's book.
A very enjoyable bit of TV made and for the BBC.I saw it when it was originally broadcast, enjoyed it immensely.Compelled me to read the book which was great.True similarities, faithful to say the least.Trevor Eve is at his utmost best as the philanderer, wickedly and terrible writer Felix.A must see.Hopefully the BBC will bring it out on DVD?or repeat it again,I think it's been repeated once since transmission, not sure about cable?Good viewing.
Rogue's Gallery (1968)
A good 60's private investigator, though not quite Marlowe.
Being a 60's baby I love the 60's in film.Have seen this film twice I think both times as a teenager would love to see it again now.Cannot remember lots about the plot apart from the main character being a P.I.onto a tricky case in a tongue in cheek way not quite like the"Marlowe" style. An interesting watch,I'm sure its dated by now.Love to see it again though.Never show it on TV anymore, probably not known or popular enough for DVD?
Entertaining Mr Sloane (1970)
A brilliant piece of entertainment.
Have watched this film many times and enjoy it just as much as the first time,a mark of a good film.Joe Orton certainly had a strange sense of humour very evident in this black-comedy.A must see if never seen.Perhaps immoral,so what the blazes its entertaining to say the least.Great performances from the cast.
Eye of the Cat (1969)
Keeps you guessing.
A very interesting plot.Is the hero of the plot in it for the money or is he really an ok person?I saw this film in my late teens and have overall seen it about five times enjoy it on every viewing.Like most films because it has some complexities and twists and turns keeping you guessing all the way the first viewing really stuck in my mind.Well worth a watch, unpredictable in my opinion.Again why is this film not available especially on DVD?
The Norliss Tapes (1973)
A great TV movie.
I remember seeing this tv movie twice in my early teens and remember it being very scarey at the time. The supernatural content was quite compelling and the acting for a tv movie was above average.I notice it is not available on VHS or DVD.I assume because of a lack of knowledge, popularity and possibly rights to the movie.I sure wish they would bring out a DVD version a.s.a.p.I'd buy a copy immediately.I'd love to see this movie again, especially because it was over 20 years ago since I last viewed it.Always a mark of a good movie if it sticks in your mind for that long!
