Rampart (2011)
What did I just watch?
Thought this was gonna be about the actual scandal, with lots of action and shady deals going down, instead it's about a burned out cop's love and sex life. All the crazy good actors in this are absolutely wasted. The cameos are the only good thing about it.
Waiting for the Barbarians (2019)
Pretty good movie, with some good acting
.....just wish there had been some historical context to it. I mean, the hats say French empire, but where and when? The "barbarians' are Asian and in the desert, so Mongolia? Were the French ever in Mongolia? Anyway, watch it for the drama, it's a pretty good little film.
Creed II (2018)
Missing the one thing all Rocky movies had tons of...
HEART!
The characters are likeable enough ( except for maybe the girlfriend), but man oh man, it had no heart! Even the music was mediocre, no inspiration at all. Oh and Bridgette Nielsen has aged horribly. Anyway, entertaining but quickly forgotten. The first Creed was much better.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Total Aliens rip-off
I've read a lot of the comments on here but surprisingly haven't read anybody say how much this movie ripped off Aliens. " you don't see them f@cken each other over" hmmmm where did I hear that before, the " she left us" part , that's really familiar, where have I seen THAT before??? Even characters are taken from Aliens, see we got our resident Burke trying to double cross the team, we got our dollar store Vasquez, and even Corporal Ferro ( the pilot). I mean come on! If only the script was half as good. Oh and Batista is a terrible actor, makes Arnold look like Anthony Hopkins.
Bolívar: Una lucha admirable (2019)
What the hell?
So here I am? Someone who loves history and who wanted to know more about Bolivar"s life. So I start watching this and man waa this awful. In the first 5 minutes this dude is giving out a rousing speech to his 'Army's of what looks like 20! First of all, we barely know who he is or why we should care. At least give us that before trying to inspire us to continue watching this thing. Acting is absolutely terrible too. They had a great story to work with, and they came out with this??? Don't waste your time
Hell on the Border (2019)
Not a masterpiece but....
It's definitely about time they made a movie about this guy. Yeah, so this obviously didnt have a big budget but the story is not bad and the guy playing the lead is actually likeable. All i van say is that the movie kept me entertained and i didnt feel like i wanted the hour and a half i spent watching it back. Ron Pearlman gives this movie some legitimacy and is always fun to watch. So yeah, not a masterpiece but not bad at all
Who Killed Malcolm X? (2019)
Super interesting!
Well made and absolutely interesting. I learned so much by viewing this Documentary. The people interviewed all bring different view points and express them with conviction and knowledge. It's really worth the watch. My only gripe would be that it really talks a lot about Islam, when Islam really had nothing to do with the assassination and cover-up. The assassination had to do more with power than anything else, while the cover-up of the deed had more to do with racial politics. Religion was just the background and was never really a central character in this play. If they would've taken out all the religious filler, I would have given this a 10/10.
Calum Von Moger: Unbroken (2019)
A day in the life of a good guy who makes dumb decisions
I enjoyed this "Documentary", and came out of it having a bit more respect for Calum. I mean yeah, he makes REALLY dumb decisions, but who the hell doesn't? All in all he is shown to be human, and a really nice guy at that. Anybody who cares that much for animals is surely a guy you can sympathize with. In regards to his decision making, yeah they are childish and make you scratch your head, but he doesn't really hurt anybody with them, just himself of course and the most important part is that u see him dealing with the consequences ( which definitely can't be easy). I think this film was entertaining and insightful, yeah it could've talked about the drugs and other less pleasant things about the sport but all that is known to anybody who follows bodybuilding or Crossfit, so no big deal. I hope this guy is successful and happy cause , like I said, he seems to be a good guy.
