Ghayal Once Again (2016)
Unstoppable Deol!
Deol has been one of India's greatest action stars. In fact, his movies have been some of Bollywood's finest action movies and the list is huge. He returns to the director's chair post Dillagi, as the lead post the underrated Dishkiyaoon while Khan returns post Chaarfutiye Chhokre.
We follow Ajay Mehra as he gets entangled in another conspiracy.
After more than half a decade of delays, Deol returns in the sequel to one of his greatest films. I have to admit – the first ever trailer which released towards the end of last year, got me super-duper-truper excited for this one. And Deol delivers in each and every way – with a mind-boggling adrenaline-pumping 128 minutes of pure thrill!
Sunny Deol is in cracking form as the director. He knows his script very well and doesn't waste a single moment in pointless melodrama or overdose of sub-plots. He remains focused and tag-teams with the LEGENDary Dan Bradley – who makes his Indian Film Debut, to provide the best parts of the movie – one superb action sequence after another – due to the hyper-kinetic choreography and the technical superiority in the execution. The one song present is fun while Vipin Mishra's background score is heart-thumping as he puts the theme to great use. Ravi Yadav's cinematography is sensational – with awesome aerial views and the perfect no nonsense capture of the stunts. The special effects do look tacky, though.
Sunny Deol takes a minute or so to settle in. But once he does, the movie moves in to an unstoppable gear of awesomeness which no other actor can match – irrespective of their roaring prowess. Soha Ali Khan is wonderful. Narendra Jha is terrific and completely believable along with Tisca Chopra. Manoj Joshi is unquestionable. The supporting cast is terrific.
Ghayal Once Again is a Rs. 50 crore action-thriller where Deol reproves himself in his greatest avatar yet by extracting superior performances from the entire cast, reigniting Ajay Mehra in a clap-worthy form and delivering an unprecedented rush of spectacular stunts – ultimately culminating in the form of India's greatest action movie yet. Phew!
Naksha (2006)
Not Bad but a good attempt
I had no intention of writing a review on this film but after reading the reviews written by others i was forced to do so. One of them said that the movie deals with trash mythology.Let me bring to the notice that the film has shown some amazing things about the Indian Heritage so you can take a hike. The movie is quite average and enjoyable.Few things in it is not acceptable like the scenes of Sunny Deol and Vivek Oberoi which was just copied from Welcome to the Jungle and also the action sequences like the jeep stunt, the shotgun sequence, and the fight with the dwarfs. It was just Cut and Paste. The story though was the same, but the actors had done quite well.Sameera Reddy was unnecessary. Jackie Shroff did a fairly good job and was acceptable. Hence, in all it was a film with too many songs, but enjoyable at the same time... Only a one time watch...
The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003)
Deol proves himself!!!
This movie is said to be the most expensive film till date made by an Indian filmmaker.Anil Sharma is quite an old film maker who has experienced many things in his life and has thought of how to make his movies.Casting Sunny Deol was the first right decision he made as no other actor could have taken his place for such a role.It was a difficult role which needed lots of emotional and action packed activities.Sunny performs amazingly. It is said that he actually jumped the final jump in the movie from the top of the mountain. That's incredible. The movie is a love story of a spy as the name suggests. If you can imagine Sunny looking different in his make ups, then you might understand on what basis the movie has been made.Pritey Zinta delivers a good performance. The rest of the cast gives in their hard work and Amrish Puri yet again proves that he is the best Villain there is.
Songs are average while the action sequences(especially with the wrestler in the lab in Canada is rocking!!!)are just too good.Allan Amin yet again proves his modern mind and his outlook. Overall, it is fun movie and a great time pass.
Agneepath (1990)
Definitely Bachchan at his best!!!!!
I saw this movie on television and was blown away by Big B's acting. It was perhaps his best performance. The style, walking, talking, and everything else was just fantastic.Though the music is a let down,it doesn't match the style of the movie. But it doesn't matter.
The movie revolves around Vijay(Big B) who is out to take revenge for his father's murderers. It is like a one man battle, but Bachchan's performance is very powerful. The ending is the best part of the movie. How he saves his family, running through the fire and killing the villain(Danny) is just too good.
It is a must for every Bachchan fan.Really powerful,Really the stylish and really awesome!!!
A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
Just too GOOD!!!!
Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell.I did not even know them before this movie. This was i think one of the best movie i had ever seen because of the brotherhood and the warmth the film gives. The actors have displayed their talent so well that i actually started feeling great at a few scenes such as in the beginning and the end when the song "what is love" starts. It was just brilliant.
The movie revolves around two brothers Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell, who are disco crazy. They somehow get access to the best club and for the rest, you actually have to watch it.The ending when the song starts,is just too good.If you want to wish your brother a great birthday, give him this movie DVD or VCD.It will change your relationship.I guarantee it.
Laugh out aloud for this movie, and keep singing the tune all the way to your home.
Blackmail (2005)
Great action sequences and a great movie!!!!
This movie was a huge flop in India. But,unlike the critics, the movie was quite good.Apart from its action sequences, the story was quite good too.It revolves around Ajay Devgan, who wants to take revenge from the cop(Suniel Shetty),for killing his wife(Dia Mirza).
The entry of Suniel Shetty is too good. His wire-work looks good.Ajay Devgan is at his best. His fight at the carnival, and the ending, was really emotional. The best stunt was the Gypsy coming through the barrels of water, above the Honda CRX.It really blew away my mind. Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza are present in a very small role but do their bit in the form of a few songs.
Watch this movie only if you are a Ajay Devgan fan.He carries the whole movie on his shoulders, and performs terrifically. The father-son relation has been displayed quite well, and is emotionally captivating. Not bad...Not bad at all....
Tom yum goong (2005)
Jaa is back!!!
Tony Jaa returns in this hi-action fast pacing movie which will truly blow away your mind.No stunt doubles, no computer images, no strings attached. This was the tag-line of the first movie and Jaa sticks to it.He again proves himself as a great successor to Bruce Lee in movements and Jackie Chan in stuntman ship.Prachya Pinkaew returns with a similar story to that of Ong Bak, but with better direction and much much better fights. His fights with three fighters in a row in the Buddha Temple is just too GOOD.The way he fights the dancing guy is a classic and a fight which can be seen again and again.
The story revolves around our hero Jaa as Kham, who is in love with his elephants. He grows up with them and loves them more than his own life. But by chance, poachers kidnap his elephant and take it away, far away. Then the game begins. To get back his elephants,Jaa fights through a lot.I really mean a LOT!!! The fights are amazingly choreographed.Especially the final, which is something like the 1:50 in Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury.Move over Bruce Lee,Jaa is much faster and dangerous,as the fight is a bone-crushing bonanza. The fight with the Australian skaters and skateboarders is not much impressive, but is not bad at all.It fills the wanted action in the first half.So does the four floor crash and banging fight in the restaurant.Very Well done.Very very well done!!! A action lover will love this movie as Tony Jaa and Panna Rittikrai completely fill the movie with it.WATCH IT!!!AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.......
Romeo Must Die (2000)
Just Too Good!!!
This was Jet Li's first lead role in a Hollywood movie. And it has not disappointed me at all.The movie is a action all the way.The story is too complicated to understand in the first viewing, hence, the movie has to been seen again and again. The entry of the bad guy is a classic. It is a bar fight with kungfu and stunts.Just too good.It shows that the bad guy is a tough competition for our hero.Jet Li's entry is not bad.The prison fight is a bit too articficial. But,is watchable.
The next best thing in the movie is the rugby match, which just blows away your mind. The face off in the end is not bad either, but is a bit too artificial.
Jet Li looks good all the way.Aliyah is damn good.Too bad she died at an early age.She would have made a great actress. In all,the movie is a action packed special effects bonanza(Especially the fight in the godown towards the end.The way Jet Li takes out all the 7 men with a 360 kick is Rockin!!!!).It may not beat Matrix, but is a good mixture of it.
Ong-Bak (2003)
Damn Good!!!
This movie had released in a different language in my country and i had seen it in a non air conditioned roadside theatre but let me tell you that this movie just blew me away.It was so amazing, that the people in the theatre started to clap during a few scenes such as when Tony fights the three fighters in a row at the club.
The movie's story is average though. It revolves around Jaa who is on the lookout from a village to the city for the people who have stolen a Buddha Shrine's head.Of course, the people are very big. So is the action.Few of the scenes are a marvellous piece of direction.Like the chase in the first 30 minutes and then, there is the scene where Jaa jumps out of fire and hits a thug on his chest towards the end.Even the fights in the end which is similar to the face off in Enter The Dragon(where Bruce Lee uses different weapons to fight Han's army),is not badly choreographed. In fact, they are amazing.Especially the jumps and 360 kicks done by Jaa.
This is a must watch for every action movie fan.The movie is slow in the beginning but picks up pace after the first kick in the club.
WATCH IT!!!! 8/10
