Meredith Monroe is worth watching, the story is not
9 June 2004
After seeing Meredith in "Beyond the Prairie" I had to buy another film with her staring. I cannot believe how she let herself into this teenage flick. It's best to watch this one with the sound off but just concentrate on Meredith as she moves across the screen. Save your money until the TV network comes out with a DVD on "Beyond the Prairie". It's worth it at any price, this one needs to pay you to see.

This pretty lady needs someone to put her into a script that can use both her talent as an actress and her beauty as a woman. Perhaps some of her latest might fit but I haven't seen them. She has the smile of a Cathrine Bell and eyes of Dana Delany with a much younger body.

Disappearance (2002 TV Movie)

Worst movie rented of the year
1 February 2003
I only rented this movie due to the fact I saw Susan Dey was listed and it was in DVD format. I fell in love with her thirty years ago and she still looks great.

It quickly became a Sci-Fi comedy which broke up the two of us as to who could predict the outcome of each scene, we won every time. The child actors and the young actress must have had at least two days of acting lessons before being put before the camera.

Susan and Harry as we know have had many hundreds of hours so they both must be in financial trouble to let themselves be contracted into such a waste of production time.

The only thing missing from the script is a hairy, saliva drooling, tall thing tearing at the SUV's window.

Ask for your money back at Blockbuster.

Sorry Canada, it's the great western you never had
21 January 2003
I hate to be one who doesn't agree with our fine Canadain (51-56ths States soon)but this and all John Wayne/Ford B/W movies are classics to be held against such films as Casablanc etc.

My children have watched same many times ( I have Videos of same ) and we have discussed the actors, the director, the story and even the filming loctions.

They have seen same as a private pilot. I flew them over the enchanting valleys, mesas and flat desert of Arizona. It really set in their minds the trials of the horse soldiers of the 1870s. Sit back with a beer or a glass of wine and watch it as many times as I have.

The one movie of the 60's you must watch
24 April 2002
When you are alone and have a nice Cognac in your hand and the rain is falling outside, this is the video you must watch. Not too much Cognac as every minute you must watch the changing scenes down to the last detail. The overcast weather in the park with its lack of shadows, slight breeze, lack of audio is an outstanding piece of film direction. The movie is a ten but only a few will be able to say they saw it and understood it.

Flashdance (1983)

What a lovely movie
22 March 2002
Just finished watching a video copy of FlashDance, not sure what time, maybe eighth, maybe tenth. Only Pretty Woman is more worn out in my video library. When a film and a sound track plus a great cast all fit into one fantastic movie experience it's rare but in the case of Flashdance it is real. Many times driving the freeways in So.CA I pop in the audio tape of the sound tract and forget about the traffic. Great music, great acting and some super funny scenes mixed in make for a four star film.

Story is over powered by the performance of Meredith Monroe
17 March 2002
A family friendly story of the old west and of a family trying to find new land to start a new life, done many times. Almost turned it off but am very glad I did not. The performance of Ms. Monroe along with her natural beauty became an attraction that held me to the end. I can't wait for her next film regardless of her assigned character. Ms. Monroe will be a star of the future and in a very short time.

great combination of acting and music
10 December 2001
It's hard to feel how Holly Hunter affects the average male movie audience in this movie, either as a sexy tiny grown woman or a sexy tiny teen-a-bopper. Either way she cannot be ignored when on screen. Comments about Richard Dreyfuss as always are not need as he is always perfect. The script, corny by some, is well done for a picture with ghosts, much better than most. The setting in the Pacific NorthWest is perfect. The musical score is outstanding as to its choices of the correct timing with the acting. The flying scenes of the WWII planes are fantastic and very real. Background sound engineers on the film deserve credit with their work. The cameo appearance of Audrey Hepburn just a few years before her death is a great plus for the film. All in all this is a film that should be in everyones library and re-watched at least once a year with someone you care for, only if to see Holly and Richard at their best. She is the prize package of Hollywood compact ladies. He is a classic.

What a waste of time and money
27 September 2001
After waiting for this move to come out on video I couldn't wait to see it when I brought it home. I should have returned it and demanded my money back. Mr Hopkins did the best he could with a very week film script that insulted the original book. I spent most of my time trying to fit Ms. Moore into the character she was supposed to portray. She never came through on any emotion that she tried to convey. How did she ever get past the screen tests? This movie is a perfect example a sequel that should never have been made.

Kay Parker was #1 in 1980 and never has been surpassed
2 September 2001
Never has any adult film actress surpassed the charm, wit, beauty and acting ability of Ms. Parker. A real non plastic body of a mature woman. Years later she still shown through in her films. Even as the second place star in TABOO II she wins over the star. Would love to know what she is doing now days.

A must for those of us who changed from working to living
2 September 2001
I first saw this movie about five years after a miserable divorce. I had worked fifteen years supplying a monster home, Mercedes for her, Jag V12 for me, all for nothing. With everything now gone I saw this film not once but two days in a row. The actors, the plot and the Bee-Gee's background music was almost hypnotic. It helped me change my vocation from being corporate cattle, to one that I love doing. A copy rests in my video library and is viewed regularly. It's 5 star to me.
