Thar (2022)
Inspired
This felt like the rural Indian ( Rajasthani ) adaptation of: I spit on your grave, with the opposite gender as the avenger.
A decent one time watch, this Netflix movie also has some nice scenic captures of the rural Indian desert landscapes. The supporting characters & their motivations could've been better.
Fatima Sana needs to do more work and this also seems to be Harshvardhan's better suited roles while Satish Kaushik seems to have got typecasted into the obese sidekick that inevitably dies.
Dunno whether it was the makeup or not but this was the first movie in which Anil Kapoor actually looks his age😂
Happy Family Conditions Apply (2023)
a stale sarabhai knockoff
Having watched just the first 2 episodes of this series, It's safe to say that Jamnadas Majethia needs to refresh his fictional family setup. This easily passes off as a stale Sarabhai knockoff. To avoid being this it needs a totally new outlook.
Multiple similarities with Sarabhai of which a few are:
Rich & high class Gujarati family in Mumbai,
English correction & teaching amongst family members,
getting lost in their own idiosyncrasies,
daughter with a funny/weird, thinking/replying approach in son-in law etc.
I have no issue in him repeating few of his previous actors
in his new works - he does the same in his present other work Wagle ki Duniya (which seems better than this as of now?)
Have to wait & watch, maybe this will get better down the line?
Son of Sardaar (2012)
Sasti copy of Hulchul
Saw this for free (with ads) on Hotstar in 2022 June & glad that I didn't spoil my Diwali with this a decade back when it initially released considering it is a Hulchul plot copy.
Chhichhore (2019)
Review Equation
3 Idiots (engineering hostel life + suicide attempt) + Student of the year 1 (inter team competition) + fresh lead pair (Sushant + Shraddha) ~ = Chhichhore!

Four More Shots Please! (2019)
4 shots cannot save this Desi Sex & the City
This web series on Prime Video feels like everything is there just for the sake of it - you know like a token display just for the sake of being there and that's it, no real substance beneath all that flashiness. At moments it does seem to build up to something worthwhile but quickly plateaus or blatantly comes crashing down with cringe worthiness and cliches. The acting of female orgasms, passionate make out sessions at the drop of a hat, general conversational tackiness, the fake accents, permanent designer wardrobes etc are some of the more exasperating gimmicks here. Overall a mediocre web entertainer.
Laakhon Mein Ek (2017)
Truly one unique amongst a lakh!
This web series on Prime video, is a treat to watch - each season deals with a protagonist who truly is a unique one amongst a lakh of people.
While in SEASON 1 a male student Akash made the choice to leave his parents (due to their pressure that he study science and get into an IIT ) to pursue his dreams of being a famous youtube comedy and mimicry artist, in SEASON 2 it was an inexperienced female doctor dealing with politics and its effects on her profession and ultimately her ethics and even life.
True to the title, the protagonists go against the herd mentality that subdues lakhs of other people in their peers and stand up for themselves and what they believe in regardless of the consequences.
