Bold and engaging, I loved every minute of this piece of art from Panos Cosmatos.

I just finished watching Mandy, and what kept resonating through me during this viewing was the following:

Love of craft. Love of cinema. Love of art and the passion that drives the love.

Cinema needs movies like Mandy; daring, bold and strongly confident.

I have been involved in the Star Wars universe since 1977, and I've seen all of the Episodes (Including Rogue One) in the cinemas. I have my own "First-to-worst" list, like everyone else on this planet. Like many, I too have a relationship with the Star Wars universe. Well, after seeing "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opening weekend, all I can say is "Rian Johnson, you've done good, real good!"

I left the theatre invigorated and exited in the new directions you've taken the Star Wars universe, and I fully respect your risk-taking. I applaud your tenacity in telling your story, and I thoroughly enjoy your movie...love it, actually.

Mr. Johnson, you hit a home run with Episode VIII.

I will not get into specifics, nor will I go into defense mode. ALL of the Star War's movies have issues, so be it.

I will say this; "The Last Jedi is not your father's Star Wars."--The Last Jedi is MY Star Wars.

P.S. "The Empire Strikes Back" is my most favorite of all Star Wars films, followed Closely by "The Last Jedi."

Like some movies that are released, I wanted to see it but had no desire to go to the movies to see it; so I waited for "Supernova" to hit the rental phase. As I viewed the DVD, I was impressed with the performances by Angella Bassett and James Spader, and thought the story was unique. However, certain aspects of the film just seemed typical, like the ending: pure Hollywood garbage. Then I watched the bonus section of the DVD, and found the movie that should have been released.

The deleted scene section of the "Supernova" DVD, there is an alternate opening and ending to this film. It is these "alternate" scenes that turned a movie with potential into a film that showed some substance. I will not disclose the theme of these "alternate" scenes, but I add that I will only view this movie watching those un-used scenes.

I give this movie a 6.5 out of 10 for the "theater" opening and ending, and a 8 out of 10 for the "alternate" opening and ending.

David Lynch's "Eraserhead" is what true art should be; an artistic expression that is interpreted by one's own mind into a final product. Lynch provides the canvas and the colors, and we, the viewers, complete the masterpiece with the contents of our very being. What I get from this movie will most likely not be the same for some one else. It is purely subjective, and it is brilliant! Who we are in life, what we strive to be and what we are passionate about, are the main ingredients to which this movie succeeds brilliantly. "Eraserhead" forces us to delve deeply into our inner selves, and demands us to be individuals...to come to our own conclusions. And This is why David Lynch refuses to state for the record what "Eraserhead" is all about. It's not about the whole, it's about the individual...and what lies within our own minds. And this is what art is all about!
