Little Women (1994)
if you're like me prepare a box of tissues, cause I cried a BUNCH while watching this lol
So I have actually seen the 2019 version first and although I love that one, this version feels a bit more "warm" or "heartwarming" I thought to myself after watching it.
I think the casting is different than the 2019, but it still really fits well!
I think one of the main differences with the 2019 and 1994 version for me is: (this is the case for a lot of newer period dramas)
The 1994 feels and looks more like a (classic) period drama whereas the 2019 version looks more polished. I personally like period movies which look a bit more "real" if that makes sense, but that doesn't change how much I love these movies.
I perosnally enjoyed Laurie and Amy's story better in the 2019 version, but I can't say no to a young Christian Bale either lol.
I didn't mention the story, because I don't want to spoil this for you.
Just go watch both versions if you want! They both have their strengths and weaknesses :)
Only You (1994)
Why did they fall in love?
I know this is supposed to be a star crossed lovers / soul mate movie, which I quite like BUT only if it's obvious why the couple fell in love. This movie is also quite fast paced and by the time they're kissing on the first day they met, I don't even understand how they fell in love, or how the male lead ever fell so deeply in love with her.
Also this movie has a lot of CHEATING which for me makes it everything else than romantic. Like the Female Lead cheats on her fiance with 2 other men! And her sister in law (whom I cared more about her marriage with larry) cheats on her husband (faith's brother) with some random italian playboy.
Also cal from titanic is in this and lol I can't take him seriously haha.
I do like the production quality and the actors suit their roles, but as for the story..meh. The sights in italy are pretty.
But if you're in the mood for a romance then maybe you'll agree with the good reviews on here.
Letters to Juliet (2010)
I think the main couples romance is too rushed..
So.
I really loved the plot of the FL helping an older woman find her long lost love. I actually liked the elderly couple more.
Now. To the main couple.
Sophie meets Charlie through Claire. So as far as I remember Sophie is engaged to this Chef guy, who was actually better than Charlie. (even though none of them are really my type lol)
Towards the ending, she goes back to her fiancé and breaks up with him JUST BECAUSE SHE THINKS HE DOESN'T PAY HER ENOUGH ATTENTION, BECAUSE HE HAS A RESTAURANT TO RUN..
The ending was satisfying when the second couple got married, but then the main couple did the ''romeo and juliet balcony scene'' and then they got together, but i didn't feel much when they got together.
Love Story (1970)
I liked the premise, but the movie itself wasn't what expected
This is my first review on here so I'll try to make it make sense.
First of all I gotta say that this movie wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best thing either.
What I didn't like was the way they talked to eachother. I'm not a fan of the whole putting eachother down in a relationship thing.
The ending was kinda rushed and sad.but I didn't reallycry, cause I didn't really get attached to them.
For the cast I think they chose them well. I've seen the ML in chances are, but I don't think I've seen the FL before. Also his father acts in escape to witch mountain.
I liked the classical music in this movie.
Overall I give it a 7/10. I don't regret watching it, but it wasn't that memorable.
I might rewatch it but probably not.
This is my opinion so check it out if you want to.
