Total Control: Episode #1.5 (2019)
Why is this show so dark?
When will Alex catch a break?? She just gets screwed more and more every episode, facing tragedy after tragedy. She's so epic and I'm rooting so hard for her so this makes it hard to watch.
The ending for another character this episode was an absolute disgrace to that character. They deserved much better, I can't believe the writers went that direction.
A big turning point episode for the assistant. It seemed like he was warming up to Alex and respecting her but now that's very questionable. A quite despicable guy.
I also really dislike Alex's ex. The way he showed absolutely no emotion as he was being taken away from his distraught wife was toxic masculinity at its finest. Why would either of them want to be with someone so cold, detached, and just boring??
Abbott Elementary: Juice (2022)
Very basic writing
I adore the cast of this show but some of its episodes like this one are so predictable and lackluster. We have already had the "Barbara doesn't like to change things" storyline dozens of times and she literally says something along the lines of "Don't fix what isn't broken" 5 more times in this episode!
The second the juice thing is introduced, it's obvious something will be wrong with the juice. I fail to understand how 2 extra ounces of juice can cause everyone in the class to have uncontrollable bladders so that didn't really make sense.
It's nice that they're calling attention to what probably is a real issue in schools like this (broken bathrooms) but could've been done in a more compelling way.
The B storyline with Melissa, her assistant, and Ava was a better but a little over the top.
Borgen: Del og hersk (2010)
Phillip is trash
He is such a selfish baby. Get over yourself and support your wife the way political wives have been doing for their husbands forever. Birgitte should have dumped him the second he took the job after they specifically agreed it would be the wrong thing. And the way he's been flirting with his student is so classless and disrespectful.
Birgitte is way too good for him and deserves so much better. I hope she leaves him and we never have to see him again! At least Klaus is supportive to her.
The middle of the night Birgitte adventure was hilarious! Quite a hot guy she discovered lol.
I liked the Karine twist at the end, seemed fair.
Northern Exposure: Dinner at Seven Thirty (1994)
Where is Marilyn?
Why do the writers constantly give so little attention to Marilyn? It would've been so fun to see her as a loud flamboyant over-the-top character. Ridiculous that she was left out.
That aside, very fun concept and I enjoyed all the new identities aside from Chris, who seemed like basically the same guy. Dr. Ruth Anne and her look were amazing. Maggie as the frumpy nanny and Shelley as the high-powered lawyer who makes more than the hubby were great! And of course Maurice as a more humble, vulnerable guy. I appreciated that the characters were so different from normal but still themselves in some ways.
Cool theme of vision and finding yourself :)
Fresh Off the Boat: Phil's Phaves (2016)
So creative
The computer storyline was genius! So many hilarious one-liners & references and great twists and turns leading to a fun ending.
The Eddie and friends storyline was boring as usual - so glad they cut this out of the show toward the end of the series. Fun Emory and Evan moments but I missed Grandma :)
Doctor Foster: Episode #2.5 (2017)
Amazing season but love & hate the ending
I disagree with all the negative reviews - I thought the concept of season 2 was fantastic and it was full of twists and turns. The penultimate episode was the best...the last episode is a bit slow.
It was really new to see a "scorned woman" shamelessly getting revenge in this way and actually succeeding in a lot of ways. I can see how some would judge her actions but I honestly think Simon deserved everything and when does the scorned woman ever get to win like this in real life?!
About the ending.... I definitely didn't see it coming and it was very compelling so I kind of liked it but I really was rooting for Gemma and wanted her to win in the end so I wasn't totally pleased. But I will not forget this show anytime soon! Well done.
Major Crimes: Turn Down (2015)
Weirdest episode ever
The writers really had fun with this one lol. Strangest characters ever and a very bizarre confession and ending that seemed wayyyy too lighthearted and not appropriate for a murder. I loved the buffet scene, the Valium sister, and the dramatic moment during the ukulele performance hahaha.
I did enjoy how there were some hidden clues everywhere and it was fun to see Buzz in this role although it was ridiculous how Flynn and Provenza continued to treat him throughout the episode. The Rusty storyline continues to be a bit slow and boring.
Love, Victor: It's You (2022)
The guest stars though!!
The iconic Tracie Thoms!! What a perfect role for her and it was great to see Mia finally meet her mom. I just wish her character was a better person :(
And Artemis Pebdani played my favorite character on Scandal. I hardly recognized her in this very different role. She was lovely as always.
The Lake and Felix/Pilar storylines were on point!
I didn't agree with Victor's choice at all, but I was more satisfied by the end of the episode. Good twist and I'm excited to see what happens next!
Northern Exposure: I Feel the Earth Move (1994)
Groundbreaking!
I loved how they completely normalized the wedding and how all the characters except Maurice were so nonchalant about it-plus, it was of course cool to see his evolution. I've been looking forward to this episode for a long time and it was a bit underwhelming but very surreal and joyful to watch almost 30 years later. Kudos to the showrunners for going for this!
The ending was a bit fun and definitely unexpected, but other than that I found all of the storylines to be super predictable-which isn't usually the case for this amazing show. Marilyn finally got a storyline and I instantly knew how it was going to end once it started :(
Mary Kills People: A Goddamned Saint (2019)
Very satisfying ending
The best episode of the series! Lots of twists and turns and suspense. Incredible acting, especially by the goddess who plays Frances! For once I actually enjoyed the scenes with the daughter and her friend. And a very fitting final scene.
I'm glad I watched this series - the death scenes were incredible and I've never seen anything like it.
The Mindy Project: Take Me with You (2013)
Unpredictable and exciting
Mindy is an amazing writer and actor! This was so witty and such a fun ride. Great season finale. Loved the short hair and the standing outside the apartment scene!
Please Like Me: Simple Carbohydrates (2015)
Lol
A very, very weird half hour of TV! Loved the Mae reveal and his dad's reaction to it and all the shenanigans. I like how unpredictable and zany this show is and even though it has a lot of episodes that are boring and don't work, this definitely isn't one of them.
Ask 101: Episode #2.7 (2021)
That fire scene
Superb acting and it's really beautiful to see men emotionally express themselves and connect on such a vulnerable level.
Otherwise the episode was a bit slow and all over the place. I can't believe how slow the present day scenes have been unfolding but finally we're getting something out of that.
Never Have I Ever: ...stalked my own mother (2021)
Amazing!
Probably the best episode of the series so far. So many deep and heartfelt moments plus lots of goofy lol shenanigans and twists and turns. I just love this show :)
Go Girls: Nothing But the Truth (2010)
Sexual assault
An 35-year-old man having sex with a 15-year-old girl is rape, no matter who initiated the flirting. None of it is her fault. The scene where her parents blamed her was disgusting.
Now we have to watch the rest of the series knowing Amy's dad raped underage Cody and they will probably continue to treat like him a normal sympathetic character. Disgusting!
Claws: What Is Happening to America (2019)
How does this show not win Emmys??
Amazing, amazing acting, so many hilarious moments, great political satire. Best of the season so far!
Pose: Take Me to Church (2021)
Absolutely magical
Incredible storytelling, amazing musical performances, and Jackeé!!!!! Superb writing and acting - phenomenal TV.
Hot in Cleveland: Vegas Baby/I Hate Goodbyes (2015)
Sweet ending
Delightfully sentimental - this is a series finale done right :)
Ossan's Love (2018)
Laughed so hard - this show is everything
I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard at a TV show - every episode was filled with hilarious, over-the-top moments that brought me so much joy. It's so deep on so many levels and is a very sweet story with lovable characters. I'm so grateful I got to enjoy this masterpiece.
Scooby Doo, Where Are You!: Bedlam in the Big Top (1969)
Hypnotism
Very fun, exciting and unique. But I wanted Velma to get hypnotized too!
