Blood of Zeus (2020– )
8/10
Blood of Zeus is pretty good.
19 May 2024
It's not perfect, but what really is.

Animation is good enough.

Art is quite good.

Plot is great.

The story and mythology are good, though the mythology is not traditional. (Which makes it better for me).

Lots of cool characters from gods, demigods, monsters, titans, giants.

Cool places like Olympus and the under world.

All the characters and places, designs are well done.

Blood of Zeus is purely for adults, so if your favorite anime's are One piece, Avatar the last air bender, Naruto or something along the likes of these, it may not fit as well with you.

There is no funny bubbly stuff or annoying characters.

It will sit better, if your favorite anime's are Ninja scroll, vampire hunter D, castelvania, ghost in the shell, and anime like these,

It's certainly entertaining.

Ash vs Evil Dead (2015–2018)
10/10
If you think Evil Dead 1-2 and Arm of Darkness are among the all time best in their genre. Ash vs Evil Dead is everything you could ask for.

This show mirrors and expands on the OG movies so well. It's a masterful sequel that stands next to its predecessors from the golden age of horror. I write this review when the previews of Evil Dead Rise are showing. I know that a lot of people consider the remake good, and I have not seen EDRise yet, but it looks a lot like the 2013 remake. For me ED2013 and, likely EDRise, are fine movies, but they just don't resemble the original universe very well. Their so disconnected from the Ash vs ED Universe; even though, they have a lot of plot devices and props from the OG universe(cabin, demons, chainsaw, guy dressed like ash, tree rape, necronomicon, and more). They just don't have Ash, and he provides a lot to do with the identity of the EDU. Ash and the comedic factor allow everything stupid about these movies to be ok. Take this away ED feels more like to the Exorcist...Anyways, Ash vs evil dead is near perfect in my opinion.

Better than mediocre, but not great.

Black phone is a fine to watch once, maybe twice, but I won't be circling around to it any more than that. The best thing about the movie is that it's a coming of age movie. Kids are the main characters and in that, you just end up liking them. The part where it falls short, is the character of the Grabber. Ethan hawk didn't do anything bad, it's just that he was explored very well. Questions like, why the mask? And Why does he do what he does? These questions just go unanswered. There is no back story to him or anything. In the end, he just wasn't that interesting. If your bored this movie will do.

Strange World (2022)
7/10
Nothing wrong with this movie.
25 December 2022
This movie is good and I'm kind of wondering why everyone is complaining. It's for kids and I really see nothing wrong with it to deserve such low ratings. The story is about living harmoniously with nature and to follow one's own path in life, all wrapped up in an adventure story on a crazy lovecraftian landscape. It was cool enough to me. Don't listen to these reviews, let your kid watch the movie, the ask if they hated it. As an adult, it passed the time better than most Disney cartoons. When I was young I hated the little mermaid, Snow White, beauty and the beast, and most other Disney cartoons( alladin was good though). If strange world came out when I was young I would of thought it was great.

This film is severely under rated!

When this was out in the 90s, I thought it was great. Looking at it now, compared to the trash horror of today, it's way better than I gave it credit for. Horror movies these days are loaded with cgi instead of practical fx and truly suffers. Another issue is, horror icons like pin head, Freddy Kruger, beetle juice chucky(from child's play 1-3) and Jason Vorhies, are for some reason never thought of. They bad guys where very likable even though they where evil as hell. Now days horror seams to be lead by blumhouse productions with there stupid haunting movies, with ghosts walking around with sped up movement contorting there body parts to produce jump scares. None of these ghosts have any personality. Remember Poltergeist, that was a real ghost movie ,the preacher was so creepy. Anyways, this is an underrated movie and fits well as a good sequel, Watch this movie and speak of its awesomeness, so future generations might understand what good horror is!

It's a 10 for some and a 1 for others
3 March 2022
Everything said in these other reviews are all true and the show is described very well; however, it's somehow good, at least for me. It's very B movie feeling, and the acting is B as well. It's a weird show and will not sit well with everyone.

Not so bad
23 September 2021
It's no John wick, but it's ok. 1st 1/2 of the movie was fun then the story started to take over and became not as good. The last action scene was a bit lacking. If it weren't for this I might of stuck another star on the rating. Still, props to the actress for doing some good action in the first half. Might not ever watch it again, but it killed time well enough.

Supernatural (2005–2020)
9/10
This show is pretty good over all.
1 December 2020
Well, I have watched this show from when it started through to the end. It starts out really good for the first 2-3 seasons. Seasons 4-5 are good(not as good as the first few), then the show/characters become meta, and pretty cliche. This said, the show is still entertaining. For being a CW show, it's damn good. Way better than Vampire diary's or the originals. The characters Sam and Dean start out young, but not high school aged and actually grow to be experienced men, where most CW shows characters start out in high school and end in the college years. Basically 90210 mixed with what ever genre appropriate plot(horror). Being a show that is subject to the rules of none cable broadcast, it suffers a bit from this by not being able to use the full array of adult dialogue, and themes. It can be very cheesy. Still, overall good and goes on long enough to get ur fill. It's not Penny Dreadfull, AMS, or even The Walking Dead. These shows are purely adult themed, with the last being softer than the first two. Supernatural is softer horror than even The Walking Dead, but still remains good. Basically don't listen to over critical nay sayers trash talking this show. If u don't got cable, even if you do, this show is pretty good, especially considering where it comes from(CW). Also the show was originally only supposed to last 3 seasons, so everything after is just extended ending. Take as far as u want.

If u like mediocre horror tied to themes of racism, I guess it's ok.
23 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If u want to have fun and explore the the Cuthulu mythos, this show is unfortunately a disappointment. This show is nothing like other good Lovecraftian themed movies, such as The Thing, The Color Out Of Space, The Mist, From Beyond or Reanimator. There is a lot of name dropping. Mentions of Lovecraft himself, Arkham, Shoggoths and other Cuthulu mythos writers. These mentions have led to nothing visually substantial. Basically the creatures called Shoggoths are not what is described by the Cuthulu mythos writers. Instead, you have a big mole/rat with a lot of eyes that is vulnerable to sun lite, that the characters relate to Bram Stocker's vampires. In the end it is entertaining enough to watch and the acting is pretty good. The CGI is not the best, and Lovecraftian monsters should never rely on just pure CGI, which the monsters in this show do. Expecting Lovecraftian themes will have a negative impact on your view of Lovecraft Country. So go in without thoughts of Lovecraft. To late for me.

The Last Kids on Earth (2019–2021)
9/10
My kid loves this show
4 May 2020
I am a 40 year old adult that likes horror, sci/fi and fantasy. I still watch animated shows (cartoons) to this day and I think I always will. Though, The Last Kids on Earth is very kid oriented, watching this show with my little one is a delight. The monsters have a bit of a Lovecraft vibe that usually is a draw for me. I remember fantasizing very similar scenarios to this show when I was a kid. What's more fun than a giant monster apocalypse with friends and no adults. This show is pretty good, dads get your kids and check it out.
