Leave the World Behind (2023)
What a waste of time!
With such good names on it - Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawk, Kevin Bacon, etc. -, I was anxiously awaiting for december 8th so we could watch it on Netflix. Really, you can count real good movies with your fingers for the last 10 years, and you would have some fingers left.
As an 80 and 90 movie fan, and having grown with these names, I was expecting a good movie.
What a drag. Poor development, dialogues, and poor character build for all of them. I mean, I didn´t get to empathize with any.
It wasn´t a serious movie, nor it was a comedy, nor it was a suspenful movie. The Tesla cars event has no logical sense.
Anyway, this is my opinion about the movie, everyone would have theirs, but if you ask me, I´d say don´t waste your time.
More Than Enough (2017)
Surprisingly good... more than good, actually.
I started watching this film with no real expectations at all, I just liked the general plot, and thought let´s see how it goes.
You cannot tell if it´s a teens movie for grownups or viceversa, but I found myself inmersed into the story, and actually caring for the main characters - Shelly, Wes and Greg -, and thinking about persons in real life who have to live with some of the things that these characters have to live with.
So, basically, it turned out not to be what I thought it was about, based on the general plot, but a lot much better, with a good and great message of how important it is to count with good friends in your life.
It´s slow, but it needed to be in order to get you there where it wanted; at least it was my case and it worked very well for me. I didn´t wanted the movie to end.
So, not to spoil anyone, it´s a story told in a simple way, with some cliches here and there, yes, but it gets to the point. Everyone can be better, yes. Surround yourself with good friends - there are only a few of them in life -. And also of the same importance, be you a good friend too.
Really, loved this movie.
