Fishing with Dynamite (2019)
informational and insightful
Fishing With Dynamite is full of info about capitalism, the stake-holder model, and business ethics as well as insight from various business leaders. Everything was explained in a clear and concise way. I found it to be engaging (and it's only an hour, so you can easily watch it anytime).
Jungle Beat: The Movie (2020)
perfect for a lighthearted, family movie night
Jungle Beat is the perfect pick for a lighthearted family movie night. Featuring fun characters and an engaging plot for kids, the film has some funny scenes with various safari creatures and hit on good themes (love, kindness, etc). It especially hits on theme of friendship which I thought was well woven in as the characters journeyed across the Jungle to help their newfound friend.
Love Goes Public (2019)
inspiring and timely story of a true hero
Love Goes Public outlines the story of Brelinda Sullens, a principal who brought hope and change to two failing schools. Her actions are marked by genuine, Christlike love as she brings in campus ministry and mentors students. I urge you to watch this documentary to experience her story and others.
Phoenix, Oregon (2019)
you can't go wrong with pizza and aliens
Phoenix, Oregon is a well-done indie film with a lot of charm and some funny moments. The story centers on Bobby, a relatable character who you're drawn to from the moment the film begins. Throughout the film, Bobby spends some time drawing graphic novels- his true passion. His spreads include pieces of his past (and aliens because he has some interesting thoughts about their involvement in his life). These spreads come into play within the film as flashbacks that I thought were a unique touch.
The romantic interest for Bobby wasn't a likable person in my opinion... and the romance felt tacked on in general. Definitely wasn't a fan of that, but the rest of the film was delightful and witty.
Also... if you decide to watch this, make sure you get a pizza to eat because I regret not having pizza.
