Light of My Life (2019)
Affleck gave a solid 6/10 performance.
I enjoyed this flick overall. Somehow the IMDB score for this movie on Amazon Prime appears lower than it does here. As I was watching this film, I was trying to understand how it seemed to score so much lower than it should deserve. So.. I know that when a decent movie scores lower than it's worth, it's usually because somehow the content personally offended a good portion of viewers. Many of the reviews here reflect that. Apparently, there are "liberal undertones" that triggered some poor folks. I didn't catch those undertones myself, so I can't speak to those here. But I can say that the cast did a fine job. The cinematography is pretty good, although a fair amount of the film tends to be 2 people hiding and whispering in a small room together. And overall, this film is worth a watch if you're in the mood for a quiet yet somewhat suspenseful storyline.
The Ever After (2014)
I came here for the Teresa Palmer...
And I left with gratitude for a great experience. Seriously, I read a review from another user and they described characters having no depth. This film was all about depth of character. Teresa Palmer was much deeper here than I had given her credit for. Take Me Home Tonight who?
That Webber guy? Well, he won't get any award nominations for his acting, but apparently he directed this film or something. So, I have to give them both due credit. A fantastic duo. Yo.. Teresa Palmer can act. She reeled me into the world of frustration and virtue of her character like I was a fish on a hook. Give me more. Where can I see more films like this? Great artistry. Thank you, Teresa and Mark.
