The Unforgivable (2021)
All the feels
This was a different role for Sandra Bullock. It was really serious, dark, and hard to figure out if you were on her side or not. Ultimately it was completely consuming, interesting, wrenching, and engaging. I don't think it could have been better cast. Such a surprise and a much needed gem in an age of crap movies. I hope this movie wins awards.
The Green Knight (2021)
Weird... pointless
Certain pieces of writing just should not be made into film. This was slow, confusing, jumbled, boring, and really quite pointless. And so long. I am mad I watched this and paid for it. 2 stars are for visual production only.
The Last Face (2016)
Just ok
Great acting but jumps around a lot and was so hard to follow at times I got bored and gave up. Definitely deals with a tough, really unsettling topic so it's not for the faint of heart.
MindGamers (2015)
Makes no sense whatsoever
This movie has good production and CGI but literally makes no sense. Scenes don't connect into a discernible plot. It was so bad it made me angry that I sat through it and wasted that time.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Surprising all the way through
Really do not understand the bad reviews. We usually watch movies expecting to have to pick up our phones for secondary entertainment during dull spots, and we were literally sitting up at the edge of our couch engaged the whole time for this. The main character is easy to hate so you get invested quickly to watch her demise. Music, script, editing, casting, plot are all on point and superb in this. I agree with other reviews that the first half is better than the second but it's like 10/10 that goes down to a 5/10 because there are turns you don't expect and frankly don't want. Overall worth a watch and very entertaining.
The Guest (2014)
Garbage GARBAGE acting and everything else
Giant waste of time. Stevens should have stuck with Downton Abbey. Acting was horrendous and the plot is predictable and boring. The only thing I can assume is it has high ratings because people invested in the film got a bunch of friends to rate it.
