Better Call Saul Presents: Slippin' Jimmy (2022)
Greatest show of all time
"Better Call Saul presents: Slippin' Jimmy (2022)," is the greatest work of art ever created, rivaled only by "Morbius (2022)." The characters are deep and multidimensional, storylines are rich and complex, the animation is top-notch, unrivaled by even the best Pixar films.
The setting, a bleak 1970s Chicago, works so well here for the mature humor and situations the characters of "Slippin' Jimmy" find themselves in. I can thoroughly say I've never seen world-building quite as fantastic and deep. The episode plots are superb as well. For example, in the third episode, the main character "Jimmy" gets addicted to weed after being forced to smoke ten pounds of the most expensive strain by a drug dealer, who is secretly Jimmy's arch-nemesis "The anti-Jimmyer." Right as his brain is about to fry over, he is swiftly visited by "Poochie" from "The Simpsons" and 37th US President Richard Nixon who saved him from his crippling addiction and gave him Opioids instead. His drug dealer was caught, and revealed as "The anti-Jimmyer." Right before the episode ends, "Jimmy," with his new power of Opioid addiction, says his signature catchphrase "It's Slippin' time!" as he kicks "The anti-Jimmyer" into the moon.
As a person who has never seen "Better Call Saul," I can safely say I will never be watching it, as it's portrayals of the characters in "Slippin' Jimmy" couldn't even hold a candle to it if they tried. All in all, "Slippin' Jimmy" is truly one of the shows of all time and is exactly the kind of programming I'd see when I turn on AMC late at night when I'm drunk and high before changing the channel almost immediately. 11/10.
Steely Dan: Aja (1977)
Perfect documentary about a Perfect Album
Aja is easily one of the best albums ever released. Featuring an all-star cast of studio musicians hand-picked by Becker and Fagen, it's truly a must-listen for anybody who enjoys Jazz/Rock. So it would make sense that a documentary about its production would be great as well. In this documentary, they go in-depth about the legendary composition, instrumentation, lyricism, harmony, and production that went into every track on the album. (Bar I Got the News, yet it is played during the outro.) Sprinkled throughout are little bits of humor that tie in nicely with the documentary, such as Bernard Purdie's bit about how he came up with "The Purdie Shuffle." Overall, a must-watch for ANY Steely Dan fan, or Classic Rock fan in general. 10/10 would watch again!
Sonikku adobenchâ (1998)
Legit one of my favorite games
After actually playing the game through multiple times, I have come to say this is easily one of my favorite games of all time. Is it perfect? No. Is it flawed? Yes. But honestly I do not care. Even in 2021, I still find this game, at least the original Dreamcast version, to be insanely fun.
Sonic's levels are well designed and a blast to play. Tails levels are more or less the same as Sonic for me, very fun to play through and speedrun. Knuckles' stages, while not perfect, are still really well laid out and the mechanics were intuitive, especially at the time. And E102 Gamma's stages aren't amazing but are really fun to just run and gun through. Amy and Big's stages still suck tho, however there's still a little bit of fun to be had even in the worst sections.
Overall this game is an easy 10/10 for me, however, it may not be for you, and that's completely okay. I'll still leave my old review up so you can see how my opinions changed.
Old review:
I don't really love this game, but don't hate it. I found the Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles portions to be fine, but Amy's gameplay sucked, and I haven't tried Bigs or E-102 Gamma's levels yet. This game is pretty flawed in my opinion, but there is still some fun to had here. Plus it has a good soundtrack. Just listen to "Open Your Heart," the games main theme. While it's not amazing, as it stands, this game is a solid 5/10 for me.
Minecraft (2009)
Great game, just some toxicity.
While the game is super fun and is honestly amazing, the "MiNeGoOdFoRtBaD" side of things is dumb. Can't I just like both games like a normal human being!!!
