Courageous (2011)
PLEASE......JUST WATCH IT
Thank you for this movie. The meaning behind this movie, should not only meant for fathers, but for mothers as well.
This is a very good movie that brings to light, the absence or deterioration of family & individual values and accountability for each of our roles in life, to one another and to God.
"Courageous" includes the elements of surprise, drama, some violence (You'll understand why, when you see it). It also has love, faith, honor, trust and how to get back to all those things that become lost in our day to day wonderful, crazy, messed-up lives.
If you're looking for a blockbuster of a movie or has really famous people - well this isn't it. (But it should be).
So... just watch it!
If you're wondering why I gave it a 10......
It wasn't for the actors or the beautiful location scenery, the action & adventure, Or the actors.....
There are no "A" actors in this film - but I did recognize many of the cast and felt they were great for their simple roles.
Actually, Using the less known actors, made it far more believable
Just watch it.
Yes, it's a Christian movie But -You don't have to be Christian, to get something out of it. And if you don't get something out of it, somethings wrong,
so watch it again!
Don't Be afraid to share it with others, Imagine how the world could change, if everybody watch this movie and took the example as a personal commitment.
Thanks for listening & don't forget...
Just watch it.
Five Days at Memorial (2022)
Who does "Butch" sound like to you??
Well, I may not know how true to life this story is told but I can tell you without a doubt that the actor Michael Gaston (who plays "Butch") sounds so much like Tommy Lee Jones - that it freaked me out. Michael Gaston played his part well.
Ok choice of actors. I could see this redone with different actors though.
This was a great storyline. Regretfully it came from a real event that was devastating for New Orleans. I can not imagine being a nurse in that situation or even having to play the role as a nurse, without feeling it personally.
It's hard to imagine that a disaster plan had not been put it place in that hospital back then. I'm sure praying that has changed.
It's a good 8 episode series!
Nope I'm not telling the ending :)
Foundation (2021)
Liked plot concept
I really enjoyed the concept of the plot. It was new and kept me interested enough to binge watch season one and season 2 in only 3 days (or nights).
The only issue I had was the language with the accents. They were hard to understand, especially since the actors spoke so quickly. It didn't help that the dialog was technical (which I am not) and very hard to follow. I used closed caption the whole time and had to rewind often to make sure I didn't miss too much.
Even though I still missed a lot, I liked the actors enough to stay interested and continue.
I'm looking forward to season 3 & hoping it doesn't loose momentum.
Run the Race (2018)
One of the best movies I've seen recently
This was one of the best movies I've seen recently. Even if you aren't affiliated with a specific religion, or not sure that you believe in something bigger than yourself yet - this movie will move you.
The actors that play brothers in this role must have had a special connection. It seemed as if the feelings and emotions they portrayed were real.
The father, the coach and especially Nanny, played their rolls well and were very inspirational too.
I realized after watching it, that it was actually based on one of our very own Florida players.
I'm so glad that I accidentally found this gym of a movie.
The Lobster (2015)
Ugh
I can never get the time back that I wasted watching this terrible movie. Maybe it's a "cult movie" thing but I thought it was awful..........really really awful.
This was a different world they lived in for sure. One that is not realistic ( which is not always a bad thing, but in this case, it was just terrible). Someone must've had a really bad dream to come up with this type movie.
Don't expect a good ending or a bad ending. There's just not an ending at all.
I expected a lot more from these actors given the choices they have available to them to perform. Not quite sure what they were thinking.
I try to give every movie the benefit of the doubt, but this one left me nothing to offer. Sorry but it's just the way I feel. It's just my opinion.
Dog (2022)
We all need this
I know not everybody will rank this movie as a 10. But, if you value a good story line, with good acting (that didn't seem like acting), and a great ending to a feel good movie , hopefully u will agree with my rating
I know this will hit home for any vet or active duty service man or woman, family / friend of one, or basically anyone with a good heart. We all need to be watching more movies like this instead of what they call "reality" crap or movies that show harm or hurt to each other.
Thank you writers, directors and anyone else that saw the worth in putting together a movie like this.
God bless all those who who give their lives, hearts and souls for our freedom.
Solace (2015)
Great movie concept
This was a very well written movie. The story line concept was unusual and kept you guessing. I did not loose interest at all. There were some great surprising parts. All 4 of the main character's parts were played well by each actor. Anthony Hopkins give another great performance in his usual way (which I don't mind at all), Jeffrey Dean Morgan brought a little lightness to a dark movie, Abbie Cornish was a good choice and I'm not going to say anything about Collin Ferrel. You'll just have to watch it to find out more.
The color tone made it feel like a much older movie but did it justice.
This movie came out in 2015 and I can't believe I haven't see this before now. Definitely worth watching.
Roman J. Israel, Esq. (2017)
Impressive
This movie was very impressive. It was gladly not what I expected.
The character roles themselves, were written well and had me questing what kind of character and morals that each would settle into.
Each of the actors played their parts so well and it kept me interested to the end.
I enjoyed the score as well. Brought back good music and good memories.
This seemed as it had been a "true story" but I guess it wasn't though I would love to see more. It left me wanting more, so the authors, play writes and actors did all of their jobs well.
I can't get the last song out of my head but I won't spoil it for you. Lol.
The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Wish I'd liked it better
Given the fact that i like both main actors (and normally enjoy Gaelic movies) I have to say that I truly expected to like this movie better than I did, but regretfully that wasn't the case.
It was so slow that I fast forwarded thru unspeaking parts that had no visual scenery.
I know all movie ending don't have to be a fairytale, "all is good" ending, but this was a waste of my time and made me feel awful to even think people could be so selfish, cruel and cold. If a surprise ending was the writer's intent....well..... let's just say..... he certainly succeeded. I was left with an unrealistic, down feeling. Of course that is just my opinion-though I wish it wasn't.
The Wonder (2022)
A very minimalist movie
The Wonder is a very minimalist type movie. It is very slow at times. It took me two nights to finish watching it. But, I am glad I saw it to the end.
It is a dark lit movie which is very appropriate for the era & location that it took place.
The acting was fine but very bland and solemn. It was definitely not over acted by anyone. Given the story line, it is understandable that there were no smiles or jovialities.
I would not watch it again and probably not suggest to others unless it was a very slow, very rainy Sunday and you needed something very slow, very dark and quiet to fall asleep to.
Slumberland (2022)
Great for teens & adults
This was. Great movie for young teens and adults. It may be a little scary at times and a little deep for younger children. Parents may want to watch it first to decide if it is age appropriate.
Has hidden meanings and if you catch them all, you will probably tear up.
Great casting (gotta love Mamoa) though I had doubts about one in the beginning but that's where a great story line takes the actor where they should go.
Cool artistic creation. Nice surprises with funny characters.
Definitely worth seeing again and keeping in teen video library.
They will probably catch get something more out of it, each time they watch it.
It All Begins with a Song: The Story of the Nashville Songwriter (2018)
Must see! Especially if your a song writer.
Whether you write songs or just listen to them, you should appreciate this wonderful documentary.
Watching this just made me feel everything I have ever felt before while writing lyrics and music.
Performing someone else's song in a way that moves others, is priceless.... but moving others from performing your own songs, touches something so deep inside that it is hard to explain.
There are so many writers in this documentary, that you will be surprised what songs they have written for others
The stories behind the songs are wonderful, enlightening and so, so touching.
Make sure you watch the whole documentary. It's worth it.
Synchronic (2019)
Great new storyline
Movie kept me interested. I always love seeing a storyline concept that I haven't seen before. It also had short Interesting New Orleans based historical content. Both main actors are good in this. Makes you remember what's truly important in life and to live in the moment as if it were your last.
The Last Duel (2021)
Surprise that I was unpleased with acting.
Love the era of the movie. The repeating of the story line (multiple times) was unnecessary and confusing. I kept thinking I had accidentally rewound the movie.
I was also surprise that I was did not enjoy with acting any more than I did.
It was a lengthy movie that could have been shorted easily with loosing anything.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Depressing and slow.
If you fall asleep during it and wake up - you may feel like you've missed something but you really haven't. Slow movie. Has mental child abuse due to depression or selfishness. I was wishing for better acting but maybe the storyline didn't help.
The Chosen (2017)
Don't miss this ! ! !
Amazing to watch a show created from the heart and come to fruition from so many others hearts. Great show, great cast, great production and made through the great grace of God.
The subtle actions and reactions of the actors (instead of over acting), are so believable and will draw you in.
Whether you are religious or not, whether you believe the stories from the Bible or not - this is what we all should be watching, instead of shows which teach us nothing we can learn goodness from.
I can't wait for upcoming seasons! Just watch it - you will understand.
The Good Lie (2014)
Touching, enlightening, informative
This movie should remind us all of what is important and what we take for granted. Good acting (not over acted).
The Secret: Dare to Dream (2020)
Positive, romantic & great family movie!
What a great movie. Great actor choices. Great "feel good"story line with great ending. If we could all think this way - life would be so much better.
To the Wonder (2012)
Made me "Wonder" why I watched it for an hour.
Made me "Wonder" why I watched it for an hour. Super slow. No verbal content worthwhile. Mostly a grown woman dancing around like a child and people looking at and away from each other. Gave up after an hour.
Borg McEnroe (2017)
Good sports movie!!!
Good movie, acting seemed pretty accurate from what I can remember. Loved seeing Borg's son (Leo) play Borg as a younger player. He sure looks like his dad.
It's always nice to see an athlete learn to be able to control himself like McEnroe did for the 1st time in the match against Borg. Loved the final scene and that they remained close.
Joker (2019)
Not scary but very disturbing
This wasn't a scary movie but a very disturbing one. I can't help but think, if someone feels this is a great movie - they have to be able to feel this movie from the inside. That worries me, considering how many "10" rating there are.
The results of the "Joker" on society hit very close to home right now with the "herd mentality" of self-convincing that something is right or acceptable when it is morally NOT!
I wish I hadn't watched this but I guess I was hoping, regretfully, that wouldn't be as real as our own society right now.
You might as well watch the news and save yourself the 2 hrs. I think Everyone has a right to their opinion and to disagree but it's So sad to think this is acceptable and becoming the norm.
Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)
No ending - no sequel
If you don't mind watching a movie that just stops in the middle of something happening - then I guess it's fine for you. But this isn't an ending that is supposed to have a sequel I guess.
Terribly disappointed. Trailer was better than whole movie.
The High Note (2020)
Good story line
Enjoyed story line. Dakota did not disappoint and enjoyed Tracie Ellis Ross and kelvin Harrison Jr's acting. Soundtrack of new songs was just ok but enjoyed older songs. The acting covered that though.
Sylvie's Love (2020)
Classic old Hollywood style romance
Classic old Hollywood style romance. Wonderful music which doesn't over cast the actors or storyline. Wonderful mix around.
Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020)
Drawn out without worthy content
Drawn out without worthy content. This could have been made into a short film easily.
