Nefertiti Resurrected (2003)
Nefertiti has been found!
I watched this video in Western Civ. class today, and I thought it was very interesting. I learned a lot about Nefertiti, and her husband Akhenaton, and I believe that Joann Fletcher is right, and the mummy is in fact Nefertiti. The only thing that kind of bothered me was that the video repeatedly showed the same shots of the actress portraying Nefertiti, over and over and over again, especially this one shot of her opening her eyes-yes, just opening her eyes, and they showed it constantly. Other than that, I think it was a great video. Joann was a bit annoying with her "Wows!' and "its amazings" but I think she had reason to be excited, since there is so much evidence that the mummy is Nefertiti.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
The best movie ever made.
If there was a rating higher than ten, this is the only movie in the world that deserves it. I say this with all seriousness. I loved this movie. This movie has everything anyone could ever want. Tolkien fans {I am one myself} and everyone else, will not be disappointed. For the very few people left by now who haven't seen this movie, DO SO IMMEDIATELY! :] Lord of the Rings is a beautiful work of literature, and the movie comes near to matching its brilliance. In the short documentary entitled "Ringers, Lord of the Fans," someone says that the power of Lord of The Rings is almost spiritual, and I agree. Pete Jackson definitely captured the magic of the books, and you don't want to miss it.
The Aviator (2004)
One of the best movies of the century
I only really like 3 movies, and this is one of them. I think this is an amazing movie. It was compelling, and captured my emotions within the first ten minutes. I just love everything about it-the story, the music, the acting, and the way it was filmed in general. Howard Hughes was such an amazing figure in history, and I think this movie captured the main sides of him, portraying him as the genius and billioniare that he was without leaving out or dwelling too much on what he became in his later years. If you haven't seen this movie, you are missing out. I don't know a lot about filming, but whoever directed this is probably one of the greatest directors of our time.
