3 Blind Saints (2011)
Humorous and Heart-Warming
As much as I absolutely respect Richard Speight and everything he is involved in, I would be lying if I said this movie was flawless.
The acting, overall, was satisfying. Each individual played their part well and delivered their lines VERY well. The storyline was interesting and the ending was appropriate for the flow of the movie.
But...that's kinda my issue: the flow of the movie.
Everything in this film moves SO fast. Things happen and there doesn't seem to be a reason for them. Characters change their minds about each other over the simplest of things and change their ways for simple reasons.
Yet, because of this issue, I don't believe the actors receive the recognition they deserve. Each person in the film successfully portrayed their character and their quirky personalities wonderfully. Each character was unique and not necessarily predictable. This was my favorite part of the film.
Overall, I recommend you watch this. You may or may not like it, but I hope you appreciate those who were involved and the hard work went into the making of this movie.
A Little Help (2010)
Cinema At Its Finest
"A Little Help" is practically a dream come true to me. I mean, come on. Jenna Fischer and Rob Benedict on the big screen together.
Wonderful.
And let me tell you: I was not let down!
This movie portrayed such a poignant message about family, decision-making, and regrets that I had not expected. Each actor played their role magnificently and the storyline was fast paced and multi-faceted. I was beyond satisfied with the ending of this film and the decision made by Laura regarding her relationship with Paul as well as how the big lie of the story came to light (messily! Like how lies are!). These characters are complicated and layered in such a manner that makes them interesting and both likable and dislikable simultaneously.
Thus, I would recommend this movie to anyone able to appreciate cinema at its finest.
Ten Inch Hero (2007)
Don't skip over this movie!
Alright. Here's the low-down:
I first heard of this movie a few months back. When I read the little blurb about this movie I was like "Ok. Well, definitely NOT at the top of my 'To Watch' list but it's there as a good Plan B". Well, today, I finally watched this film! As in just now. I finished around 5 minutes ago and am coming straight here to write a review.
Let me tell you.
WOAH.
This movie was DEFINITELY not what I expected. This movie, to me, defined don't judge a book (well, movie) by its cover. It exceeded my expectations by a longshot. The acting was wonderful and the storyline was not predictable like I had thought it would be (I know. Bad me!). Each character had their own role in the story's development as a whole and each branch-off of the main plot was depicted very well. And! What I find is usually lacking in many movies (both indie and big blockbuster): the characters had many layers of depth that delightfully surprised me.
Overall, I hands-down recommend this film to anyone willing to have a good laugh and to sit-down for this tender hearted experience. Believe it or not, though, I wouldn't call this film a "chick-flick" (in my humble opinion, that makes it even better). I know I'll definitely be watching this one again!
