Highlander: Endgame (2000)
There can be only one.
I have seen all the movies, and every episode of the acclaimed series. I saw it at the theater and have it on DVD. They were able to blend both the series and the movies together pretty well. The ending on the DVD is better than the theater ending. Though I felt they could have went into a bit more detail. A few important scenes were cut, buy or rent the DVD and you'll see what I'm talking about. The plot and story line are well put together, it made me think and question life in general.
Adrian Pual really shines and gets to show his skill. He is a great martial artist and does help with setting up the fight scenes. Donnie Yen is awesome and is a good match for Adrian. Chris Lambert does a good job, he is the original Highlander. You can see his age showing through, like the rest of us he is only mortal, it happens.
If you are a fan of the series you may be a little saddened with the small parts Methos and Joe(Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes) got. I would have liked to see Methos come to life, maybe even a fight scene with one of Kells' followers. Joe has some screen time, but more would have added that much more to the story.
All in all, I love this movie. Even with its faults, hey were only mortals!
Stargate (1994)
Great Sci-Fi movie
I loved Stargate. It fuses a few of mans dreams or idea's into one possibility. The gate is this great thing that can go to anywhere you want, but can let the worst thing in your front door. The plot is maintained well and made a great base for a t.v. series.
Kurt Russell is great in this movie and fit the role pretty well. He has some great lines and a couple good action scenes. The whole cast and crew seemed perfect for their roles.
I had a great time getting into this movie, it sucks you into the wonders of the world. It lets you think of what could be. If you like the movie, you will love the series. Richard Dean Anderson(McGuyver) plays Jack O'Neal and Michael Shanks plays Daniel. I suggest watching the series, it really adds to the movie.
Watch this movie! Go to places you haven't been before.
No Retreat No Surrender (1985)
One of the best!
I love this movie! I've seen it countless times, so many times the tape is about wore out. I am going to have to order a new copy, too bad they don't have it on dvd with extra scenes, that'd be awesome. Van Damme has little to do in this movie, as the bad guy he rocks. You don't get to see that side often. The action is great, the story and plot hold together well and overall its a great one. One of the best!
