NWO Returns
18 February 2002
First off i have to say that most of the matches were fairly lame. But lets start with the good ones.William Regal made a First Class Heel in his Brass Knuckles on a pole match with Edge. The Rocks match against The Undertaker was better than one could of hoped And Rob Van Damn and Goldust was probably match of the night.now the stinkers Triple H and Kurt Angles end was signposted early and the fight was poor given there track records.the Tag Team Challenge Match was won By the worst Tag team in it.And the Snoozefest that was Chris Jericho and Steve Austin which consisted of Chop after Chop after Chop.Every move was repeated over and over.Thank Goodness For the NWO,and Rocks Little Send up was great. At the Moment the big title Match at Wrestlemania looks like being a major flop.Unless Hall Nash Hogan And Flair can Reclaim the glory days.

Awful Turkey worst of the year
19 January 2002
Barry Norman Johnathan Ross shame on you both praising a movie you both admitted not understanding.what a bunch of bores.oh its Art so it must be good.Wrong if it makes little sense whats the point. Too many Critics pan the films that make money and Praise rubbish like this.this is a Emperors new clothes story where critics praise what they dont understand incase someone calls them stupid.this movie is so bad thirty years ago it would of been in the lower half of a double bill with Holiday on the Buses.this movie make Reg Varneys Look like a Classic.

A Real Bore
9 January 2002
John Woo makes a boring action movie until this movie i would of said thats impossible.the first was a classic but this is just so slow.the early scene reminded me of Star Trek V.the middle part is all talk.and the action at the end a big letdown.if you want a action packed sequal pick Die Hard 2.

8 January 2002
this awful show is the pits.neither funny or watchable the plots are rubbish.the jokes are nowhere to be found.Coogan has made many classic tv moments.but this is pure hell.hopefully this is the first and last series.one of the poorest shows i have ever seen.

The Tony Ferrino Phenomenon (1997 TV Movie)

Underrated British TV Classic
8 January 2002
Unfairly Panned by stupid TV critics,Tony Ferrino was a superb send up of cheesy Euro Entertainers like Sacha Distel.with loads of funny songs like Bigamy at Christmas,Other mans wives, fishing for girls and the Silence of the lambs.this was a fantastic show. The BBC only made two shows with Ferrino yet both were classics unlike Dr terrors house of horrible which is laughfree.i would of loved Alan Partridge to have interviewed Tony Ferrino.Kim Wilde proves to be a Dab hand at comedy.a true masterpiece.a shame the BBC have not released it on DVD.

What a load of rubbish
3 January 2002
The fist movie i saw at the cinema and enjoyed the second wasnt as good but the excellent Andrew Divoff made it still worth watching.this third movie does not have the star of the first two movies.its like having freddy played by someone other that Robert Englund.Jason Connery is no match for Divoff.I dare say that Divoff didnt like the script,i know i didnt.the acting was lame the fx even worse.i own the first two on dvd but this rubbish will not grace my dvd shelf.

Steptoe & Son (1972)
Great TV spin off
24 December 2001
This captures the heart and soul of the TV show. The two leads are so realistic that you could not really see them as anything other than a classic double act.a neat story even if the ending is predictable.but its stays true to character.some good genuine laughs.though you do feel for the younger Steptoe.

Great Dracula movie
13 December 2001
Although i was looking forward to this movie i couldnt help but wonder if they would use CGI.which i think has been done to death in movies like Mummy Returns and American werewolf in Paris and worse look rubbish compared to films 20 years earlier.this then comes as a breath of fresh air as this is more Matrix than any of them.the story goes further back than usual.the cast are great Johnny Lee Miller being a loud mouthed cockney is a little poor.i maybe would of liked a more classical actor as Dracula.but there few and far between.Timothy Dalton years ago would of been terrific.as this one was more a lost boy than anything else.but the film is fun and not many recent horror movies can claim that.

Still A Fun Movie
15 November 2001
I saw this when i was 10 and i liked the movie.now as a adult i get the more adult humour.the cast list is as big as any all star cast.and most were at the height of there careers.the Stunts are first rate.if this was made now it would be fake cgi, instead of death defying stunt work. shame.by the end of the film it seems everyone had a party making this and that sense of fun translates to the screen.

why it looked so cheap
1 November 2001
i read in a article from total film that the original budget was $36 million. however thanks to Cannon suffering from many big budget flops the budget was scaled down to a trifle $17 million.when you consider how much Reeve and Hackman cost to appear in the movie.no wonder it was the worst in the series.

29 September 2001
its been a year and this movie which is a remake of a British cult movie has still to see the light of day.when you consider that they released that awful megabomb Battlefield Earth Worldwide i cannot understand them not releasing this movie.so come on Warner release this movie in England.its no good letting a movie stay on the shelf unless its Battlefield Earth.

A Great Movie
4 September 2001
Some super acting a great script documentry type filmmaking.erika christensen will be a face to remember for the future.there are no star turns this is more a team effort.certainly different from most Hollywood movies and all the better for that.the film grips you right until the end.i cant fault the movie.this is as refreshing as Pulp Fiction was in 1994.

A Great funny movie
4 September 2001
A fish called Wanda was a classic Adult comedy.this has a PG so its more Carry On.this has its share of belly laughs.the movie has a Terrific cast.Kline was great as the inept son.Cleese was also excellent.the supporting cast Robert Lindsay Ronnie Corbett and Derek Griffiths are given little to do which was a shame.the music score by my favourite composer is probably his worst score ever.Carey Lowell one of the best ever Bond Girls has a thankless role.but as a comedy it made me laugh.nice and colourful a great movie. 9 out of 10

Dalton IS Bond
4 September 2001
When i was 7 my parents took me to my first Bond movie The Spy who loved me.so after 10 years of Moores bond when they replaced him my heart sank. However i was now 17 my tastes had changed though even today i liked the Moore Bond movies.when i saw this movie in July of 1987 at a late show in Great Yarmouth by the end i thought WoW!the opening is clever with a great action sequence to get things started.the plot is more intriguing.the Villain is more charming and smarmy. But Dalton is so on form.after the great precredits sequence we have a great pipeline scene that has tension and Dalton Pulls off the line "your the first"beautifully timed.theres a most realistic fight scene in a kitchen where everything bar the kitchen sink is thrown in the audience i saw it with were as amazed as i was.now years later i saw a deleted scene involving a magic carpet.it sounds silly but its just a rug thrown over telephone wire so Bond can escape from an asasination i think this scene should of been in the movie.it may of helped it in the states.there is more romance than usual for a Bond.the music score is Excellent.Jerome Krabbe is Wonderful in this.his so good you actually like him.But this is Daltons movie. I think the Producers were wrong to replace him.The man with the golden gun was one of the least sucessful bond movies ever.yet they stuck withMoore and The Spy who loved me And Moonraker became Two of the biggest Grossing bonds ever.they should of allowed Dalton to at least one more movie.I know Licence to kill failed but so did Star trek 5.even sure fire hits were bombing thanks to Batman and Indiana Jones.maybe had they gone for the near xmas market they would of got Brosnans type of gross. This is a must see.

John Glens Worst Bond movie
4 September 2001
Moore tries but he knows Tanya Roberts is too young in this.Walken seems weak and Grace Jones oh dear. The fire truck scene is more Will Hay than James Bond.It does have a fantastic movie score by John Barry.how i wished he had done Licence to kill. The best thing cast wise in this is Patrick Macnee who is excellent in this.unfortunately his character isnt on screen enough.the ski scenes are pretty poor the fight on golden gate bridge are well done as is the Eiffel tower scenes.but as a whole it was sad to see Moores Bond go out like this.however its still better than never say never again.

Octopussy (1983)

One of the Best Bond movies
4 September 2001
A good story with a great cast.Louis Jordan is a excellent villain in classic bond tradition.Kabir Bedi is a memorable Henchman that also gets one of the biggest laughs.Maud Adams is clearly nearer to Moores age thus looking a more belivable screen couple.the action is as good as ever.the cast look like they are having fun.and that fun was enjoyed by the audience i saw it with when i was 13 back in 1983.on dvd the print and sound could be better but the movie is so good i easily overlooked itsless than impressive transfer.i love the scene Bond tries to hitchike which is as real as it can get.i should also mention Steven Berkoff who went on to even more famous screen villains in Beverly hills cop and Rambo First blood 2.

Moore at his Best
4 September 2001
The story is a little more complex, the villains not so easy to identify.the action is more down to earth than the sheer excess of Moonraker.Julian Glover makes for a sneaky Villain who tries to use Bond for his own gains. This was the start of the John Glen Bond movies And quite a vintage they were too.lots of action all of which is less over the top but certainly just as exciting.the music by bill conti has been slated over the years but i think its a great score.this plays very well on dvd.as for Moore that one scene where Bond kills for revenge is easily his best performance he really does convince his angry enough to kill.

OK movie based on game
2 September 2001
The trailer makes it look very big budget but that soon proves to be only at the end.the acting is pretty poor the main villans are to busy talking quietly which in this kind of pantomime is not the way to play it.the fx when on screen are very impressive.but the script is very good.and the set up for a sequal is really a case of dont count your chickens.

the curse of odd numbers continue
31 August 2001
oh good god after row row row your boat comes gilbert and sulivan sung because they can. the fx is less spectacular.the movie is obviously done on the cheap.F murray abraham is wasted in a poor villan role.the flying transporter scene is awful.even the avengers movie had much better fx.the story is ok.but a Wrath of Khan it is not.

A Underrated Movie
31 August 2001
William Shatner suffered most of the blame for this movie.Paramount were to blame for the extra comedy scenes.as for the fx the company they wanted were busy on higher profile movies.dr Mccoy gets his best ever trek moment theres a real sense of loss in the sequence with his father.the music score is nicely done the story is very much in the vein of the tv show.i prefered this over the boring star trek 1 and 3.the awful generations and the fx poor insurrection.i saw this at the cinema and i own it on dvd.a very good movie.

What a overrated piece of trash
30 August 2001
Seldom has a movie been this highly praised been such a pointless bore.3 hours plus to build up to precious little.yes the acting is good but the film goes nowhere very very slowly.if this is so great why did it fail.in my opinion just like Fight club people a few thousand enjoyed it while the more entertainment driven mainstream audience chose wisely to avoid this.i made the terrible mistake of buying this on dvd i soon traded it in.

A Turkey of Epic Status
30 August 2001
I read the book before going to see the movie.the book was strange but it was ok.this however is a overrated movie with a highly predictable performance by Tom Hanks.this movie was both pointless and how it managed to defeat pulp fiction at the oscars well only the academy know that one.i hated this movie with a vengeance i saw this the same day as the fantastic The Lion King. After the highs of Disney came the Lows of Hanks.a truly pathetic movie.
