Catching Killers: Manhunt: The Olympic Park Bomber (2023)
Good series, bad episode
I really like this series. It is well made and features great insights into the police work involved in these cases. But this episode brushed past the abuse of the FBI to Richard Jewell way too quickly. It doesn't do him justice and it completely disregards the abusive tactics used by the FBI in order to try to pin him to the case.
The film about Jewell and what happened to him tells a very different story. I recommend watching it. In any case, this documentary clearly does not jive with the film.
To hear the officers express more regret and apology for how Jewell was treated would be good.
The other episodes in this series are all very good and I rate them very highly.
The Office: Survivor Man (2007)
Survivor series
The melancholy mood of this episode brings out the true nature of this show; a man lost in his life, both metaphorically and in reality. As Michael discusses his feelings of betrayal and isolation as a result of Ryan excluding him from his camping trip, he simultaneously shows his inner spirit of seeking. Sprinkled throughout this chapter is, of course, comedy gold in the form of quotes and commentary from the supporting characters. Dwight proclaims himself to be a savior of Michael's dignity and integrity, but quickly reassess this stance. The episode ends in redemption and a sense of finding answers and community. In my eyes, this is the quintessential Office episode which captures Michael's struggles perfectly.
