Worth watching
13 August 2022
A documentary about sad little sociopath with mommy issues, drug issues, and a below average IQ, if you ask me.

I usually avoid 3 episode Netflix true crime shows as they usually get overly dragged out, but this one didn't feel like it.

One trick pony
5 July 2022
When it started I was laughing my bum off, but already by the end of the episode 1 I realized this guy's a one trick pony. 1 formula for all of his sketches. Gets tiring really soon.

I even searched for the hotdog sketch on youtube, because everyone kept talking about it, and even that was just...meh.

It's on the level of Mr. Bean (but gave me anxiety)
24 June 2022
It was exactly what I expected it to be, and it was on the level of Mr. Bean.

I feel like people who tell you it's not are only saying it because they didn't get to see it their first time as a child, like they did with Mr. Bean.

However, I must say, watching this as an adult gave me anxiety. It's probably more suitable for children. 😂

Adorable, but makes you wonder how ethical...
23 June 2022
The show is full of adorable animals who can do stuff none of us thought they could, and although it's fairly obvious that giving the animals more activities makes their intelligence and cognition far higher, there's still a question of ethics in some of the examples.

For example, the parachute guy obviously loves his dog to pieces, but should be aware that him reading his dog's behaviour without having a proper education for it might just be a confirmation bias. He should most definitely test dog's stress levels after a jump, just like those scientists did with the rats.

Important documentary, but dragged out
17 June 2022
It's incredibly important that the story of this monster is finally out, and that the victims finally have a voice, but this documentary was soooooo boooooring. It should've been a 1 hour movie. Instead of simply presenting us Jimmy Savile's career in 20 minutes, and then giving the voice to victims and their stories, this was in fact 2 hours and 15 minutes of presenting Jimmy Savile's career, and 15 minutes of the horror and the story of what a monster he's been. Disappointing.

Cringe
17 June 2022
Hasan has no charisma and is making me cringe while delivering the jokes. It's a cool idea, but jokes are very American - overly simple, and not funny.

Love it!
9 May 2022
I'm genuinely surprised by the amount of bad reviews. Yes, the story goes slower, but bc there's a bunch of characters involved in it, and the tempo is specific for this kind of subject, as this isn't an action/shooter series.

The cast is spot on! Collin should get all the rewards for this role, as his voice, way of talking, movements, everything is exactly as Mike Peterson! Toni's doing a great job too!

I also love that there are very explicit scenes in the series, as they did exactly what they were made to do - shock!

I was a bit obsessed with this case, and have seen the documentary and read a few books. I love that this series is putting all of this together, and is giving us deeper connection with the people involved in it, be the drama between them fictional or not (although I do believe this part is probably also quite realistic, as it simply makes a lot of sense).

I love love love that the series is exposing the prosecution! It was fairly obvious throughout the entire trial that they were the bad guys, and even though I do believe Mike had something to do with Kathleen's death, not giving him a fair trial has hurt not only him, but the whole family and the justice that Kathleen deserved.

Meh...
18 April 2022
I kinda want to see the ending of it, because there are so many positive reviews on it, but I don't think I can finish the show. I really tried tho, but had to stop in the middle of the third episode. I usually love British humour, but this just wasn't funny for me. I feel like Catherine choosing to play all these characters was a mistake, and some of them are quite cringey and I didn't find them funny at all - like the inmate with a Scottish accent, who's annoying and it looks like Catherine is making fun of mental illness. Now, I'm really not one of those people who can't take a joke, but I'd say, if it isn't funny, that's when it's just offensive, and I don't see anything funny in someone constantly shouting stuff in a disabled way. Then there's the mistake of her playing that Essex guard. With no voice change and too obvious make-up, it just looked and sounded like Catherine in a bad Halloween costume.

3 stars because I like The Officey vibe, plus I did like the other guard, and Catherine's lead character. It's too bad she didn't stick with playing only that one.

WHAT A DOCUMENTARY!
9 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't give it a clean 10, because there is the fact that the camera crew was rented by Michael himself, and secondly because by the end it started getting a little bit tireing. But maybe it was just because I binged it.

Anyway, definitiely one of my favourite true crime documentaries.

Although I do feel it's a bit biased, I also like the fact that camera crew had all the access to everything. It made me so involved in the life of the entire family, I personally felt pain for them after watching it.

I don't know if Michael did it or not (I personally believe he didn't), but the matter of the fact is - he spent 8 years in prison first and foremost because of being bisexual.

I do believe this was what was driving the prosecution (those 2 literally look like that religious pro-gun homophobic American stereotype), this is what biased the judge and the jury.

Anyway, one more thing I'd like to mention that also made a great impact on my rating is THE MUSIC. That music was just wonderful. Painful and hounting. It gave me anxiety, as it was made to give, and it kept me completely engaged and in pain. Beautiful, beautiful work.

Painfully beautiful
9 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I remember watching this movie 15 years ago, as a child, with my mom and aunt. I think back then we'd watch it at least once a year, so I must have seen it at least 5 times. Now 15 years later, it just randomly crossed my mind, and I had to watch it again. It was so much more easy to find it than I expected. Needless to say, I cried for another good 20 minutes after it ended. I'm really not so much into the heart-break and romance, but the way Stubbs portrayed naiveness and purity of her character, and all that put into this story, just breaks my heart. Wilby's acting too. Especially at the end of the movie, when he realizes how much he messed up. Such a beautiful movie.
