Rennervations: Rajasthan, India: Building a Mobile Water Treatment Center (ft. Anil Kapoor) (2023)
Great Series to watch
The documentary series is absolutely incredible, blending informative content with a service-oriented approach. Jeremy's work is truly admirable and he embodies the qualities of a true avenger, who understands what the world needs at this moment. As an Indian, the 4th episode about Rajasthan really struck a chord with me. The lack of access to proper drinking facilities is still a prevalent issue in remote villages, and I appreciate the effort made by Sachin and his team in tackling this problem. Their fabrication knowledge and methodology were truly commendable, and their happiness while pursuing and delivering this project was evident. Anil Kapoor's presence added an extra charm to the episode, but the main message of the documentary is to work together, reuse resources and innovate to solve problems. Overall, a fantastic job done by everyone involved.
Jehanabad - Of Love & War (2023)
Set wrong narrative
Even if you ignore the biased script, there is low level acting, bad direction, glorification of Leftsit+Naxalite agendas and an illogical ending waiting for you to disappoint.
So the story begins with a district of Bihar, where upper caste people dominates the whole city in 21st century. They kill Dalits openly and are posted on top most positions in police. They are politically strong and exploits Dalits of villages for their benefit. Almost all the officers and professors are also shown from upper caste, so it means reservation doesn't have existed in that particular district of india ! Lol !
Now one Naxalite who was educated from Delhi University is shown as a leader, visionary and justice giver. His brother and mama plan his escape plan and for that they use an upper caste girl. But in this whole act of using the girl for their purpose, this naxalite brother fall in love with her. In dilemma between girl and his Naxalite purpose, he chooses the later one. Brother escapes and kill all the upper caste prisoners in jail itself and Naxalites capture whole city under their control.
This was the whole story which will show Naxalite as one who are fighting for a cause and against injustice while upper castes are bad people who just keep on exploiting lower castes.
Now why I think this is an illogical script and sets wrong narrative :
1. Any caste or group shouldn'tt be portrayed as villain in any series.
2. India have reservation system, through which there is mix of all caste working in government offices.
3. An MLA is very strong constitutionally as well as socially irrespective of his caste. (There is a scene where it is shown that even after winning MLA election the lower caste candidate is powerless.)
4. Naxalite was a big problem of India, but it never happened that they took the whole city under their control. And now CRPF have almost brought their activities to zero.
5. Naxalites are murderers and terrorists, so showing them as hero sets wrong narrative.
6. Jail Breaking can not be so easy as shown in the series.
7. And at last the illogical ending. I would ask you watch it by yourself. Bride run on scooter amidst of firing between police and Naxalites. And suddenly girl become so important that they all stop firing . This scene was supposed to be emotional, but you will get a laughter on its execution.
