Quantum Leap: Mirror Image - August 8, 1953 (1993)
My favorite episode
Actually tear jerking... so much so, I looked it up when they brought Beth back in episode 2, season 1 of the new Quantum Leap series, to see for sure if it was the same actress. Just thinking about this episode still brought a tear to my eye. The way they changed Al's life would have made a great 6th season, too bad no one had the foresight to let it continue.
I know the strange things they started to do with the bad leapers was jumping the shark a bit, likely killed the show, such a shame. Glad they continue to use Al's family in the new series.
Wonder if they will bring back Sam's Daughter as well, who was supposed to be working on the project.
Wonder if many people notice Al the Bartender (Bruce McGill) was also in the very first episode, as Weird Ernie. They don't really make a big deal about that, as much as they do as all the other characters brought back.
Dark Skies (1996)
My Dad and watched the season it aired
It tied ufo and the 60's government controversies, primarily JFK's assassination into a nice tidy package. The way it just disappeared, we always wondered if they stumbled to close to too many truths.
The Villain (1979)
Ok, I get it, it isn't everyones cup of tea...
But wouldn't it be nice if it was. I saw this movie as a teenager at the drive in, when it first came out. Never laughed so hard at a movie in my life, and hard pressed to find one even now. I guess it helps I grew up on road runner cartoons, and the old Bugs bunny and Daffy Duck, before the PC police made Tom and Jerry friends, remember, they used to chase each other, Elmer Fudd shot Daffy more times than I can count... and it WAS FUNNY.....
And so is this movie, in the very same way. I feel sorry for those who can't let off a good belly laugh watching this movie... Very sorry.
