Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again (2022)
Night at the museum: *museum not found*
Night at the museum 4 is a movie that exists.
Honestly I was excited when this came out, I really liked the trilogy, and this looked like fun! Then I saw it and though it was too much like the wimpy kid reboot. It's a extremely mid animated reboot of a really good trilogy, except I though wimpy kid had its moments.
Kamunrah rises again has ton of problems like:
1. Nick's a screw up, I don't know why, he just is.
2. The events of the 3rd move don't exist, for some reason. No new banners, Lancelot is gone, and there is no mention of anything from the third movie. The only survivor from it was the Larry caveman person, Laa. Other than that, nothing.
3. You saw the title, 95% of the movie doesn't even take place in a museum, the finale take place in Egypt.
4. How the heck is kamunrah in the New York museum of history?! Last I checked he got thrown into a portal in the Smithsonian at the end of the second movie. Not in a box in the basement of the New York museum.
5. Honestly I don't remember the movie being all that funny, which is really disappointing, especially since it follows up one of the greatest comedy's of all time.
Night at the museum 4 is nothing but a flawed stinky follow up to one of the best trilogies in the 21st century. The only praise I can give it is that the actors do actually sound like their own characters. Unlike another horrible follow up *cough cough* megamind vs the doom syndicate *cough*
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
As a Percy Jackson fan, this was disappointing.
Im a Percy Jackson fan, i've read all the books and liked both movie adaptations. So when a Percy Jackson series was announced, I lost my marbles.
But when I saw it, I found it really disappointing.
First of all: Percy and annabeth, they didn't feel like each other. One thing I like about Percy is that he's funny, and the movies pulled that off well. Disney Percy however, feels more like a stereotypical Disney action book adaptation protagonist, very boring. And Annabeth, she's more snarky than her book counterpart, before the quest, it felt like she was a bully to Percy, and now they're good just a few episodes in?!
Second: too much Disney+ book adaptation, not enough Percy Jackson vibes. It feels like this series is like every Disney+ book adaptation that isn't animated, very good plot but not enough interest to continue on. The only example I can think of that has skipped this would be goosebumps, which had its own unique thing going on. This leans into the mysterious Benedict society vibes: good show, not good enough for a repeat.
Finally: stuff happens too fast. In the first episode, Percy only fights ms.dodds for like a few seconds before it ends. In episode 6, the lotus casino isn't really fleshed out that well. In both the book and movie, Percy, Grover, and annabeth go though the addiction stuff, and it's pulled off so well. The series though, they get to Hermes, and the leave the casino. With only Grover being the one to get addicted and Percy to go through the wrath for a few seconds. Really Disney?
Don't get me wrong, 3 outta the 8 episodes are great (3, 4, and 5) just the series didn't really feel like a Percy Jackson series, more of a Disney series. I wanted to like it, but I just can't.
SuperMarioGlitchy4: SMG4: Mario Breaks the McDonald's Ice Cream Machine (2023)
How SMG4 made Mario look like the smart a$$ and not SMG4 himself.
The worst episode of 2023 BY FAR. It feels like 4 was the idiot, not Mario, why?
In the episode, Mario wants some of that juicy McDonald's ice cream, but SMG4 won't allow him to get it because it would "mess up the rv."
Well first, there's indoor seating, so the rv wouldn't get screwed up and plus, I'm pretty sure that 4 wasn't in a rush.
Second, he tries to order a happy meal for Mario, a happy meal. Happy meals are the most messiest McDonald's meals out there, the fries get everywhere and you'll loose that cheep toy in a few weeks anyways. So to trust Mario with one wouldn't be a good idea, due to how stupid he is.
And finally, this mess could've been avoided if SMG4 got Mario a McFlurry. THEY HAVE DOMES 4, AND MARIO COULD JUST EAT THE CUP IF HE WANTED TO.
And don't even get me started on the ending. SMG4 chokes Mario for eating ice cream. News flash 4, YOU DONT OWN THE DAMN MCDONALDS 4. I hope this episode falls into oblivion and is forgotten.
Candy Cane Lane (2023)
Interesting story and a "so bad it's good" feel, but sometimes annoying.
Honestly not one of Eddie Murphy's stinkers, not as good as I thought but was still kinda good. Some characters, such as the lady newscaster, the reporter, and the carolers were annoying, and felt a little fast pasted, but that's my only problems. The story was intriguing, some joke were good, and the main characters weren't annoying. Candy cane lane is a good holiday movie with a "so bad it's good" feeling, it has its ups and downs but is still a good one. At least it isn't Shrek the third, I can tell you that. Or the 2003 haunted mansion movie, which for me wasn't bad, but isn't the best. 7/10.
Pinocchio (2022)
The worst Disney movie remake
Now Disney has made some remakes of their famous movies (Aladdin, Lion king, etc.) but those movies managed to keep their original story with a few differences, many new songs, new characters. Well out of all the remakes, this is the worst one. For starters, there is too much CGI, now most remakes do, but only for Characters that are more or less animals, this one went "ha ha, CGI go BRRR." They CGI'ed the cat, the fish, (probably) the seagull, but where the CGI really stands, is the main character himself: Pinocchio. This guy has the worst CGI out of all of them, mostly in his eyes. Another thing is the pleasure island scenes. Now if you saw the original, you know that in pleasure island, they have cigars and beer, this one has root bear, which is more of a soda than a alcoholic drink. Sure it can teach kids about diabetes, but kids will still be drinking their coca-cola after seeing this movie. Anther thing, remember in the traumatizing donkey transformation scene, where one of the characters says "jackass" well they censored that, even though a "ass" is the scientific name for a donkey, and then there is the cliffhanger, the movie ends with Pinocchio and his father go to a blue light, and before they enter it, Jimmy goes to the screen and says that people think Pinocchio turns real, and then ends the movie there, ok? What happens? This movie is the worst Disney remake, and no one can change my mind.
