How bad can you get
7 January 2024
Rewatching this move years later, what a frustrating crappy movie. Zero entertainment value and the cursing by Steve Martin towards the rental agent was horrifying. Not the least bit 'funny'. Going into the movie, I went in with smiles, telling everyone in the room this is a great movie let's watch it. Embarrassed to say the least. I feel sorry for John Candy, all the embarrassing set ups and poorly written lines they gave him, sad. Rest his soul. Great cast I would've expected more, but everything was so frustrating and unfunny it was torturous to watch the game. I guess we had lower standards back then.

Just like you expected

Warning: Spoilers
Denzel is the man. The third installment did not leave you unfulfilled. Set in beautify Italy, who didn't want to instantly be transformed there. And the hospitality and charm and the melodic language - I'm selling my house in NJ and moving there!

What a shame that la familia is in Sicily! Who would have thought.

Robert McCall still kicking. Those stairs! My knee hurts just thinking of it. While convalescing he sees a shake down that rapidly escalates into a one-man war. Every local is intimidated and compromised yet gathers around their new friend. Lots of graphic bloody broken bone scenes, glass shards to the face - he made his point. Overall a good action packed movie lead by everyone's favorite actor - Denzel Washington.

Sort of good

Warning: Spoilers
Not sure what I just watched. Sort of interesting, good concept, confusing characters, lost as to "do they really live there", where are all the local people, how close were they to NYC, are George and his daughter scam artists or really the owners, they seem creepy odd yet semi-compassionate, too many F-bombs in the dialogue. The ending did not satisfy, the daughters relationship with the rest of her family remains unresolved, what's with the deer? The movie seems to just end with a lot of unresolved subplots. Unfortunate for Hollywood they made Ethan Hawke seem very wimpy and obviously Julia Roberts the wife was in charge and wore the pants in the family. Not sure why their sons teeth fell out, so many questions.

Very good but weak male characters
10 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Suspenseful, do not read spoilers, ruins it. Not really sure what happened at the end!

Unfortunately characters were typical Hollywood - showed a weak dad, annoying daughter, overly heroic wife who saves the day or does she? So many scenes where characters struggled were easily remedied - just slide the table? Why not kill as many as possible? Run them over. Why acquiesce to getting handcuffed? Why not just hide, why drive? Why does she keep getting out of the car? Was she really the clone all along? Great concept not sure what the hands across America had to do with it. Overall very good but gory movie.

Excellent

Wow, amazing adventure flick.

Being Polish myself, it hit home rather strongly. Movie reflects kindness and the raw brutality of self-preservation. I can't even walk a mile myself let alone 4,000 miles. If it's a true story, those folks had such a desire to live, not sure I would have made it. He succeeded against all odds especially after WWII when Russia took over Poland. He still couldn't go home. His love for his wife was incredible and enviable.

Also makes you wonder how Russians could be so evil to their fellow man. Hard to fathom. Inhumane. Just like the Nazis. Makes you think, are we all capable of that?

Ok Action Flick
1 December 2022
Decent action flick, not sure why she engages the antagonist directly through the video screen and audio. Her better bet would be to just ignore him. Can't believe that little thing is married to Chris Hemsworth. Very uncomfortable dialogue by the antagonist midway through the movie, makes you very uncomfortable very awkward. At this point I felt like turning off the movie. Again and again she engages the bad guys via the video. What can she possibly gain? Also it portrays men as either bad guys or weaklings, whereas all the women are heroes including a female president. All in all it was a decent action movie.

Been there, seen it

Warning: Spoilers
What kept going through my mind is they could've done a much better job with this movie.

Both Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum looked strange, obviously she had lots of work done and he looked puffy almost like he's been out all night before they filmed. Every action scene is reminiscent of other movies from Indiana Jones to Jurassic Park. The only real cinematic pleasure was Brad Pitt who unfortunately was killed off early in the movie.

Not sure why Sandra Bullock had to wear the outfit in the first place that they required her to wear for a question and answer period during her book signing tour.

I honestly wanted the movie to work, but I felt they were trying too hard, and there was no real chemistry between the two stars.

Very similar storyline to the classic Romancing the Stone.

Entertaining formula action movie
6 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyable movie with a likable mean character. Several of the scenes I saw similar and other action movies such as the pulling of the fingernails and a wounded spy going into a veterinarians office.

Main complaint I have is that Carmichael and Brewer never felt any repercussions from their actions. Ryan gosling's character should have terminated them before the end of the movie. Why did he let them live only to harass him in the future. Didn't make any sense.

Dreary but interesting

Relatively interesting movie but very dreary and monochromatic. Confusing to say the least.

The major negative is the woke nature of the story and how they all seem to condemn mankind. I don't watch a movie to be preached too.

Silly action movie

Laughable Chinese propaganda movie, semi-entertaining. Graphics are below par, very comic book-ish. Although Matt, Willem and Pedro are enjoyable, this highly improbable film is best taken tongue-in-cheek.

Fully enjoyable and entertaining family movie based on the HG Wells Time Machine story. The two hours went by so quickly. Becoming a big Guy Pearce fan after I watched this movie and Momento.

Enjoyable, clean movie

Enjoyable family movie

Pleasantly surprised by this movie. Well made, well acted and at times very touching.

It's hard to believe that this many people play rugby, I love the coach's passion for turning out winning teams and developing young men.

Difficult to watch at times as the family dynamic for the protagonist was cringe worthy. However the writer turned this into an well-made, coming of age, second chance movie.

I strongly recommend this movie. My wife and I enjoyed it very much.

Get the popcorn and the tissues.

SYFY quality movie
20 January 2021
Watchable movie with made for TV quality. Dolph Lundgren was fun to watch, Mickey Rourke was rather scary. Seems like a lot of the actors were chosen because they look like famous actors.

Dolph Lundgren's accent came and went through the whole movie. Mickey Rourke looked like he was came from another era with his hair and cowboy hat.

Rather frustrating to watch the beginning of the movie when the war pigs were being assembled and their insubordination to their commanding officers. I'm surprised they didn't wind up in the stockade.

I enjoyed the period uniforms, weapons and military vehicles. It was fun to watch.

Well made but slow moving film
14 January 2021
Painfully slow moving film actually works. Superb acting, didn't need the two stars in supporting roles. Sad, edge of seat, horrors portrayed well. Couldn't sit through the whole thing.

Beautiful but pointless
12 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Watched this movie with an open mind, noticed a lot of liberal love the planet type of propaganda, beyond that it was a beautiful well-made movie. Lots of unfinished storylines and not sure really what happens at the end. I read one review saying that the little girl was a hallucination, could be but I'm not sure. I think George Clooney could've done a lot better tying up the loose ends.

Semi entertaining but vulgar
4 January 2021
My wife and I began watching the show as a recommendation from another couple. I found it semi entertaining however it was very vulgar. I like the time period, characters and acting but the writing is just too vulgar for me. Otherwise I would've given it a higher rating.

At first I found the rapidfire dialogue incredibly annoying then after a few episodes it actually works. Great character development and acting. A little vulgar at times otherwise I would've given it a higher rating.

Interesting but X rated
4 January 2021
My son began watching the series and I joined in for one or two episodes until one of the main characters was performing oral sex on his girlfriend. Not something a dad wants to watch with his adult kids. I found it very interesting but too graphic and vulgar for my tastes.

Thoroughly enjoyable show tracking four adults who go squatching every week. Although they never find anything, they have a way of keeping you engaged. Renae Is the voice of reason, and a good checks and balances for the other three who assume every noise, footprint, and activity in the woods is a bigfoot. And who doesn't find their town halls filled with characters who swear they saw a fictitious character.

Needs to upgrade their subject matter
2 January 2021
Although I thoroughly enjoy watching the show, and the theme song is stuck in my head, they really should upgrade their subjects. Now I realize that the show has been on a long time and all the good and interesting subjects might be taken already, but some of them are just boring and uninteresting. Time to be creative and include more interesting subjects

Very entertaining series that goes between the mundane and the very serious quickly. From saving a duck to recovering a drowned body, the show has it all.
