A Warm December (1973)
Loved It!
Thanks to the TV1 Network, I had the opportunity to see this fantastic film. I absolutely loved it! It was a quaint and refreshing break from the norm. It is one that I would love to add to my collection so that I might share this gem with friends and family. In the 70's when the film was released, I was merely a twinkle in my parents eyes but oh how I have come to love and appreciate Sydney Poitier as an outstanding actor. I've had the privilege of experiencing, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," "A Raisin in the Sun," and "Uptown Saturday Night." I look forward to delving into the treasure of Sydney Poitier classics. Thank you for a great film. It was wonderful to watch a beautiful romance unfold.
Akeelah and the Bee (2006)
What a Gem!
My entire family loved Akeelah & the Bee! Its messages about community unity, self-worth, and aspiring to achieve your dreams (against the odds) are outstanding. What I liked most is that these messages apply to the youngest viewer to those advanced in years. I've always appreciated the talent of Laurence Fishburne & Angela Bassett (for years) but how beautiful it is to see this young actress (Ms. Palmer) spread her wings and fly to unfathomable heights. I think she is a true blessing to this industry. There are some actors and actresses that my family will support and watch because they always play reputable, morally sound, & decent roles. Ms. Palmer is sure to be one of them. My family certainly plans on watching her Disney debut as soon as it premiers.
