The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)
A MUST See Movie
This movie is like a unique Persian rug. The older it gets the more you realize how precious it is. I have seen this movie at least 100 times and every time I watch it, I find something new and funnier about it.
The acting is perfect. The lines are great. The flow is magnificent. The only other movie I can recall where so much attention was given to the details, and the lines is Amadeus. This is one of those movies that people come to truly appreciate it as years go by. I read the box office for this movie, and it seems it made only $2 million at the box office ($40 million total budget production). If they release this movie today after 14 years I am confident it will be a hit at the box office.
I am not going to spoil the movie for those who have not seen it yet except to tell you that if you are in a mood for a real comedy then you MUST see this movie.
Lilies of the Field (1963)
A movie for ages to come
You watch this movie and you realize that Hollywood does sometimes make movies that do matter. Potier is superb in this film, and after watching the movie you have one question to ask and that is why Hollywood does not make movies like this anymore?
There is a famous statement by Dao De Jing who said: "When we lose the fundamentals, we supplant them with increasingly inferior values which we pretend are the true values". And after you watch Lillies of the Fields you come to the realization as how low we have gotten in our standards today in 21st century.
Lillies of the Fields is an inspiring movie with a profound story expressed through Potier and the nuns that a million years from now anyone watching it would understand the divine meaning of humanity. This is a must have movie to be passed on to your generations.
The Heartbreak Kid (2007)
Ben Stiller is as funny as ever. GREAT movie (and I mean GREAT Movie)
If you are looking for about 90 minutes of entertainment, and laughter (and I mean really laugh) and to forget about the real world, go watch this movie. Ben Stiller is as funny as ever and he is the one who really makes this movie a great comedy. In my view whoever says this is a bad movie either is a stiff republican with absolutely no sense of humor or simply just a boring no fun grumpy old man. If you are a married man in all likelihood you would relate to Ben Stiller's character and if you are not married and about to get married then you better learn from Stiller's character! :) And if you are divorced then you definitely feel being the Stiller's character and the reasons behind as why you are divorced! :) In short this is a GREAT very very funny movie just like other Ben Stiller's movies.
The Amateur (1981)
And justice for all...
This movie came out at the time when the Iran hostage situation had ended. The message is very simple: One has to put off a fire with a fire. The only thing that terrorists can understand is their own language of terror. Being civil to terrorists is similar to trying to convert Hitler to becoming a Jew! This is a great entertaining movie, and perhaps what is left with you for a long time is the coldness and cruelty of how Sarah is shot in the head - an innocent soul who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. And Sarah's look just before she is shot speaks volume for the helplessness it presents in front of evil (like those of Islamists).
Night at the Museum (2006)
Webster definition of Prof. Critics=Imbeciles
One thing that has always been amazing to me is how much media pays attention to the so called talking heads. These are the arrogant *****s who appear everywhere. From the stock market (e.g. the so called analysts), to movies (e.g. the so called professional critics). And what is so amazing is that we (the people) pay the media (e.g. Yahoo) to pay attention to these talking heads who are nothing but a bunch of F* idiots. A night at the museum is the perfect family movie for all ages. Just go and see it. You enjoy it tremendously. And if you read a critic's review that tells you otherwise, just throw that critic's name in the toilet and flush over it. Its that simple.
As the saying goes Money Talks while B.S. Walks. Home Box Office speaks volume how masses have loved this movie while arrogance professional critics's B.S have made a bunch of ass out of themselves.
Little Man (2006)
A horrible movie: Life is indeed not fair...
This is indeed "THE" worst movie I have ever seen (And I do average about 150 movies per year). This movie is simply garbage - just garbage nothing more than just garbage.
And I submit that anyone who finds this movie not a garbage (let alone being funny) intellectually challenged (regardless of how young the person might be).
The story is so idiotic it is beyond expressing. Just to give you a flavor of what this movie is about: It is about a grown up con man who happens to be a migid but pretending to be a little child to be found at the door steps of a couple whom he accidentally hide a large diamond with. The couple apparently are so stupid that they do not realize from the size of this con man's penis (which is supposed to be the high-light comic part of the entire movie) that this is a grown up migid and not a child. Not to mention how these 2 couples don't see that this newly adopted child of theirs is a grown up migid after he sleeps and has sex with the woman (who is now his mother). The story is so sickening and so taboo it is beyond comprehension.
To express how I felt after watching this movie (which I never finished watching as I left half way in between), the following can perhaps articulate my feelings:
This movie is a proof that life is not fair. There are people dying of starvation in Africa in need of money to survive, and then we have the arrogance and the audacity to spend money on making garbage such as this movie. Just thinking of how many lives would have been saved had the producers of this movie spent the money on saving those lives and instead wasted on a garbage such as this movie, and it makes me want to cry. What is so sad is that the people associated with this movie continue to walk around on this planet and not publicly expressing their shame for being associated with this movie. Yes...life is indeed not only not fair, but in fact cruel.
Raising Arizona (1987)
One of the best comedies of the past 30 years
I have seen this movie at least 20 times, and every time I watch, it is as though I am watching it for the first time. The comedy and the special humor that so perfectly is delivered by this movie is timeless. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates a good comedy.
I read the few comments by those who said they hated this movie. All I can tell them is to see a psychologies for only then they can overcome their hostility toward the world. To say this movie was not funny, or was not good is to say you hate being by a beautiful beach under a 80 degree weather in Bora Bora!
Raising Arizona is a definite must see. It is a classic by all standards. I wished they made movies like this more often.
