Family Guy: Prescription Heroine (2022)
Get over your self guy who's only seen 2 movies
Whatever to the whiners who gave this a bad review. It was brilliant. Some might argue that the references are aimed at specific generations. I say no, the humor was over their small little heads.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Post-Graduate Psychopath (2021)
Only good by comparison..
Oh what to rate this one? Do I give it an 8 because of the weak cheese political crap we've been getting, and I want to reward good behavior in the right direction? I dunno. This episode was better than anything they've given us in awhile. But so eye rolling cliche. "Life is closer to death than people realize" was one of the lines the psychopath drops in an attempt to be dark and misunderstood-again eye roll. Did the writers even try? Lame. But I wasn't violently disappointed like I have been the rest of this season.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: In the Year We All Fell Down (2021)
The worst episode they've ever done..sad
This was the worst episode of SVU ever. And I just recently watched every single one from day one. Clearly I'm dedicated. The formula now is barely "Law" (sorry Carisi), and then super drama that has nothing to do with detective work. But worst of all, thanks for making us rehash something we aren't even out of. So much for escapism in my favorite show. I'm so angry and disappointed. Wish I could give it no stars.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Devil's Dissections (2015)
Entertaining. Predictable. Worth it.
These first two episodes of the season opening are predictable, from the plot to the acting. But whatever, is was damn good. Like a mini movie, a little Silence of the Lambs, Dexter, sprinkled around here and there. It was jam packed show casing everyone's talent. Worth watching because it will do what law and order is suppose to-entertain.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Transgender Bridge (2015)
A return to good writing after a few years off!
Yes, this was a tough prickly subject from every angle. But the complicated legality, ethics, and all that other intense human stuff made this the type of law and order I love. Smart, complicated and realistic (unfortunately). This is why I love this show and re-watched all billion seasons during the pandemic. Not the back stories of Amaro or Rawlins toeing the edge of (or overstepping) being bad detectives. The first few years of the Alex Cabot DA days really displayed the "law and order" aspect. The intricacies of the law, the working relationships between the ADA and detectives, and how the law can be amazing and utterly heartbreaking at times. Then enter seasons roughly 14, and getting at its worst 16, where I thought I was watching Melrose place instead. Yes, I absolutely love all the characters. But I don't want to know about their demons, the show isn't called "Elliott's or Amaro's rage issues". I digress. My point is, smart writing once again, finally.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Padre Sandunguero (2015)
It's not called " Law & Order & Personal Drama"
The first 5 years of SVU were truly the good years. They stuck to law and order, hence the name of the show. This whole decade is too backstory annoying drivel. Did they run out of headline stories to reflect upon? Did they decide soap operas format was the way to go and forget the whole point of the show..again, law and order. I loved the years when they'd have to maneuver some crazy legal sidestepping aspect and put some real effort into the writing. Made you think this show was smart. Then..it turned to easy dummy unrealistic draaaamaaa. Blah. Just blah.
How to with John Wilson (2020)
Original & Brilliant
It brings the best of the city right to your tv screen. It's like sitting on a park bench and getting the best people watching session ever. Both subtle and obvious in the humor. Other reviewers said it may not be for everyone, and they're probably right, if you haven't lived in a real metropolis you may not appreciate the insanity that you can find walking down the street-which is what I love and miss not living in one at the moment. Yes, humans, and humanity can be awful, but they also can be funny, and amazing-and by amazing, I mean ridiculous, insane, beautiful and everything in between. I hope there are many more seasons to come!! Please!
