Life Ain't Like the Movies (2021)
A Meaningful Film
There's films you just watch for fun and then theres movies you watch that really makes you fuzzy inside. This is one of them. In fact there was many moments in this film I could actually relate to when i was a kid. Director and all the actors came through on this one. Well done and I highly recommend to everyone.
Kajillionaire (2020)
Brilliant
Lets be real, this! Movie! Is! Poetry! This movie was brilliant, clever and honestly one of the best ive seen since sitting at home and literally watching movies all day. Loved the message the language and the acting. It honestly feels as though you're watching life happen, which yes isn't filled with explosions or big budget alien effects but filled with real moments. Which we all can relate to. Miranda does an excellent job of showing us the world as we may see but never thought to notice and i am so grateful to have witnessed this magic in my lifetime.
My Spy (2020)
Worth watching
I was expecting a one dimensional role for Bautista but he actually delivered both comedy and some quite touching moments in this role and thought he paired well with the kid. Lots of unbelievable moments but its a family movie. I see professional critics talking about fo language but I didn't see too much. I also want to give honorable mention to the character who played his partner. Delivered some touching moments too. Movies like this tend to deliver 100 percent one dimensional roles. This movie gets credit for trying to deliver more. Certainly not at the level of kindergarten cop, but does all right for the movie equivalent of a cousin.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
So good
Especially with what is going on around the world with the pandemic, it's so humbling and joyous to see a movie all about what brings Europe and other countries together. As a huge Eurovision fan I am impressed with how a lot of the minor stories are represented in the movie, from countries not wanting to host due to the cost of hosting. There was some bits that could have been altered for instance Spain wouldn't be in the semi finals as they are one of the big 5 who automatically qualify, and also the event was held in the U. K. but for quite some time now the host city is the home of the previous years winner, and so the U. K. would be the last place to host Eurovision. Nonetheless it was amazing to watch, especially to see so many amazing Eurovision singers come together for the singalong. You can watch this movie over and over again and it'll never get old.
The Binge (2020)
A good stoner movie
Its a great stoner flick.... I think they should do a part 2. Instead of one binge day a year. Do 2 binge days a year. One on Christmas and the other on the 4th of July. It'd be a great all year around flick.
Darling Nikki (2019)
More good then bad
The cast was beautiful but the film felt rushed. The story was there and cinematography was great but they just needed to re-work the editing to make it a little more entertaining. I liked the comparison between fantasy world and real life and that made it a lot better but again if they re-edited it without the extra parts more people would appreciate it.
Body of Night (2020)
Perfect Thriller
A perfect thriller and mystery packed movie! I love the many twist and turns that keep you guessing. Good acting - It was a fun hour and a half popcorn movie but some moments were a little too extra. Not complaining as it's an indie made film, they still got my attention and that's hard to do.
