The Mosquito Coast (2021)
Didn't live up to its potential
The story started good and I was looking forward to the next episodes after the first 2 or 3. After that, the writers just kept finding way to frustrate the viewers by a. Not disclosing the real issue they were facing and b. Making sure the family kept facing new, out of the blue problems so the story couldn't develop. Now the season is over and I don't know that I've been looking at. I'm being generous with the 6 stars, but somehow they managed to keep me interested and I liked the visuals.
Them (2021)
Most uncomfortable watch - sorta in a good way
This series pulled me in, but left me with a bit too many questions to really give it a high score. I never enjoyed watching Them, it was really painful at times. That being said, the acting was really good and the storyline(s) fascinating. If you're going to start watching; keep an open mind is all I'm going to say. And do not watch it if you're faint-hearted. Particularly one episode left me a bit shaken.
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
Don't waste your time on this
I created a profile just to review this nonsense documentary. After watching just 1,5 episodes, I turned it off and looked up online what had happened to Elisa.
In the middle of episode 2 it felt as if they kept circling around the same information over and over, as if it was something new. Filling in too much time with uninteresting back stories of people too. You're just no step further halfway ep 2 than you are just 10 minutes at the start of this docu. So, save yourself a lot of time and just google this case.
I really do like a good crime scene docu, and I know they build suspense on purpose. Normally I don't mind, but these makers just really pissed me off with it.
