Unfrosted (2024)
Absolutely hilarious
I loved every bit of this movie!!! From start to finish.
The references. The jokes. The cast. The sets. The impressions. The costumes. The props. The music. Just perfect.
Incredible and truly brilliant. What an excellent and fun movie. A time capsule.
This will also be a rewatchable movie. It's like an updated "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" with all of the comedic stars that appear in this flix. Every scene has another classic comedian show up seemingly out of nowhere. It's was non-stop saying, "hey, look who it is!!!" Plus, the dramatic actors who show up were perfectly cast.
This movie is easily a 10 out of 10!!! Thank you, Jerry Seinfeld. What a treasure.
Your Place or Mine (2023)
Great for Gen Xers
This was a great movie!!! I didn't know much about it. However, it was one of the best rom coms I have seen in years if not decades. It's been a long time since I have enjoyed such a movie in that genre. The stars are wonderful and the plot felt natural and not forced. It was down to earth and not over the top which is what normally happens with these types of movies.
It was enjoyable and sweet at the same time. As a Gen Xer, I thought it hit a lot of good points about modern life and how time flies. This was a surprisingly good movie and I very much recommend it.
In addition, you can't go wrong with the soundtrack as well which is mostly songs from The Cars.
The Pale Blue Eye (2022)
Masterpiece
Christian Bale is the actor of our generation!!!!! This film proves it once again.
"The Pale Blue Eye" is a must see movie. Stirring. Captivating. Tremendous acting. Clever. Dramatic. Absolutely a must watch. A timeless and surprising good epic film.
Highly recommended. Amazing scenery. Great score. The cast is great including the actor who plays...Edgar Allen Poe.
Not sure what else to say other than you must watch it on Netflix. Well deserved ten (10) out of ten (10).
Filmed in Pennsylvania. Winter never looked better in a movie.
The plot is suspenseful. You can't take your eyes off the screen.
The Munsters (2022)
Love letter to the original series
This is obviously a love letter to the original series by Rob Zombie. I'm glad he played it straight and he hit the right sensibilities too. You didn't see comedians like this anymore and that's too bad. He respects these characters and many remakes don't, or worse, they look down upon them. The cast of the three main parts were perfect. I was concerned about Herman but he hit the right notes. Grandpa (or The Count) was tremendous and Lily was very well done. It's also honors Universal movies and there's one terrific TV reference that I won't give away. It is great that Butch Patrick and Pat Priest also appeared. This was a funny movie and I highly recommend it.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Fun Meta Stuff
It has taken over 40 years for a She-Hulk live action appearance. By comparison, it took Hulk about 16 years. It didn't take long for Batman & Superman to have their live action appearances. Batman debuted in the comics during 1939 and he appeared on screen in 1943! There are still some superheroes who have not had a live action appearance yet.
But it's about time and I thought She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters was perfectly cast and this series was fun to watch. The supporting cast was very good. The breaking of the 4th wall at times was clever. It was funny and didn't always take itself too seriously. For the most part, the guests hit their marks especially Daredevil. I enjoyed it and I hope She-Hulk shows up in a future movie.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Funny & Touching Tribute
There were plenty of hilarious moments in this sequel. I enjoyed the great tributes to the original. The first movie was a love story at its heart and this sequel remained true to the original.
