Last Survivors (2021)
Storyline is all wrong
The survivors are not in any kind of "utopia"; they are in a shack in the middle of nowhere, struggling to provide for their needs. And even though they are in the middle of nowhere, they are not "thousands of miles" away from any city; the US is only 2,900 miles wide. They may be hundreds of miles from their former city dwellings, but that's it. And there's nothing "science fiction" about it. It's a dull movie about doomsday preppers who were able to scratch out a meager, miserable life after some catastrophe. Hooray for them. I wouldn't work that hard to cling to a life that was a constant struggle.
Bordertown: Megachurch (2016)
Good Writing. Great Voice Talent.
Since Seth McFarland is the Exec Producer, it's no surprise that the show is very much in the Family Guy comedic vein. Everyone is skewered. And I like that. I've experienced two laugh out loud moments; one being the voice of the Reverend; he's doing Will Ferrell as Harry Caray, and it's hilarious. The other is in a line about a "milky skinned Laotian boy". SO wrong, but hilarious.
i have no idea what kind of trip tommypezmaster was on when he wrote his review, or what he was watching, but this show follows a very familiar story structure, with solid writing and a very talented cast.
And, like Family Guy (remember it was cancelled and resurrected), it may take a couple of seasons to build the audience. but I'm onboard, from Go.
