Juno (2007)
Surprisingly SUPERB!
I saw this movie out of curiosity because all the critics had raved about it and it had an impressive cast.
And I ended up being spell-bound by the witty dialogue, superb acting, (especially Ellen Page, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera and J.K. Simmons) and the great characterisation. The inventive opening credits sequence and direction in general by Jason Reitman (who'll easily surpass his average dad in the directing stakes in the future I reckon!) was top-notch.
It also had an original story and Diablo Cody definitely merited the Oscar win.
Don't believe the trolls on here who seem to be taking great delight in trashing this film. DO believe the people who have given this film glowing reviews in every country it's shown in and the people who have rated this film highly and given it an average of 8.2 so far.
The people who hate this film are in the minority and deservedly so as this film deserves to be seen by all.
Trust me - just rent this movie or buy it and you'll want to see it again and again. I was so touched by it at the end I couldn't stop crying and I'm a tough action movie fan usually who hardly ever cries at movies. But I'm not ashamed to say I blubbered like a girl at the end as the two lovers (Cera and Page) sang their little song to each other professing their love. If you don't melt at that you have a heart of stone.
See this film and realise how good Ellen Page and Michael Cera are and will be in the future and how a great script and imaginative direction can lift any small film to the heights of greatness.

Not great
Within the first 2 minutes I have sustained a headache from the sheer crapness of it. Now I am writing this. It is just one of those really bad Australian movies which compels you to change the channel immediately, but usually you have to end up watching as nothing else is on.
In the same context as one of those stupid American TV dramas (that I cant believe anyone could be bothered watching) although different.
It isn't very good and that's a shame. Plus Kylie is barely in it and seems to have regressed back to her bad acting days in Neighbours.
That is all. Avoid.
Le evase - Storie di sesso e di violenze (1978)
Awful movie.
This is really bad. Awful dubbing, rubbish acting, badly shot, choppily edited and generally terrible.
I also didn't like the fact that the scummy rapist judge didn't get shot at the end and was allowed to completely get away with forcing himself on another woman! that was a sickening scene and its a fairly misogynistic film.
However, there are 3 plus points. All of them are the foxy women. Erica (Ada Pometti) is particularly sexy and has a great but brief sex scene. Patrizia Funari has a nice backside which is shown off. And the girl who isn't listed here but plays 'Susanna' is very gorgeous.
I shall be checking out more of their films!
However, they were the ONLY three plus points and thats why the film gets 3 from me. 1 POINT for each sexy woman!
