Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
A boring drag
The movie was so boring that I preferred going out to buy snacks without feeling even once that I need to hurry back to the screen.
The story is a drag and the logic driving the movie completely non-sensical and lame. It's fine that the director wants to showcase his visuals around a water theme but then he should have taken some more pain with the plot to ensure that the plot is driving the movie to the water rather than the visuals driving sinking the plot into the water.
The plot just keeps hitting new lows.
The kids would and might enjoy the movie but it surely isn't for anyone who wants some substance in the story than just stunning visuals. Even the visuals become an overdose after a while.
Wonder Park (2019)
Very dumb script
The animations look fine and it could possibly have been worth a watch but the script is so dumb, unimaginative, drab and non-sensical that it renders the movie hard to watch for even 5 minutes.
The Crossing (2018)
Really Liked this show
As a show, it's enjoyable. It kept a good pace and an interesting and crisp story line.
It's sad to know that it won't have a second season to wrap up the story.
Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020)
A decent binge-watch
To begin with, It was a decent watch.
I enjoyed how the references to Hindu mythology and philosophy had been woven into the narrative and the story-line. At some places, these references did feel out-of-context and forced but i am ready to overlook that as the overall experience wasn't bad.
Also, it was nice how the characters had been given their own take on mythology and scriptures.
Acting-wise, most of the characters did give a good performance but some could have been better.
Particularly, the young Asur character didn't look intense enough. So, whenever the story-line would revisit the past and make references to his intensity, I would find something lacking.
But overall I would say that it was a good watch and am ready to go with 7.
La casa de papel (2017)
Interesting but flawed and frustrating
While the plot is interesting, it also feels frustrating. It feels like it's being stretched to add episodes and seasons. The plot looks extremely fabricated and implausible, particularly from Raquel's perspective - the way she freely carry her newly founded boyfriend (Salva) around to critical investigations and police sites.
Is Spain's law agencies really that dumb?
And then Raquel is shown to have streaks of brilliance and out-of-box thinking and then she doesn't connect obvious dots, all to suit the vagaries of the plot.
Circumstances always suit the Professor somehow.
Would I recommend watching it - maybe yes but not for the brilliant script as the script has too many flaws that frustrate the life out of you at least once per episode.
Imagine That (2009)
Nice family watch
It was a nice feel good movie to watch with family. My kids enjoyed watching it. It didn't get boring anywhere and didn't feel like it was needing dragged. Most of all, I liked the daughter's acting.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020)
Needs to break free from bajirao mastani template
Bajirao mastani had love story as it's premise but this didn't. Sequences related to kajol were completely unnecessary and irritating interruptions. Also, I fail to understand the necessity of trying to add a couple of humourous characters in such movies (when they feel so out of place). The movie was just okay when it comes to acting. I didn't find it immersing and gripping enough.
The A List (2018)
Have I overrated it - maybe yes
Somewhere around 8th episode, I thought maybe it will have some interesting psychological tones. But it turned out to be a downhill ride- a kiddish Bollywood-like 80s movie.
