30 for 30: Doc & Darryl (2016)
Season 3, Episode 10
Great story, well told

Painfully obvious (and sad) that DG was using even during the filming of the movie, but a really interesting watch for sure.

My 1st User Review (and the 1st to review this awesome show)
25 March 2015
I've been an avid IMDb user/fan for over 14 years now (just checked my profile) and have never felt inclined to post a user review. That said, I just watched Big Time In Hollywood, FL, excitedly came to IMDb to see if others shared my exuberance over this incredibly fresh, well-executed, semi-farcical gem and noticed there were no comments as of yet. So I figured hey, why not have my first user review be the one to start the praise that is sure to pour in.

This show is terrific. I would say "brilliant" (and it does border on it), but as a huge fan of comedy farce and absurdism (everything from Strangers With Candy to Children's Hospital), I won't go so far as to say I've never seen anything like it- but that doesn't mean "Big Time" doesn't come through on almost every level... big time.

If you appreciate the brilliant mind of Ben Stiller (the way only he could deliver ridiculous characters like White Goodman in Dodgeball, Zoolander, and even his character's acting style in Tropic Thunder), you will most definitely enjoy the style of Big Time in Hollywood.

New shows can be incredibly disappointing these days, so it's all the more satisfying when one is actually right on point.

Great stuff!

Important Observation: The Genius is in the MUSIC!!!
20 January 2007
24 is the most gripping drama ever.... and I know WHY!! I've always known, actually, but I thought I would finally reveal it to the world: THE MUSIC!! No, I don't mean the soundtrack or score in particular-- but the fact that there is music of some kind playing AT ALL MOMENTS OF EVERY SHOW. ALLLLLLLLL! I have watched A LOT of TV in my life, but never have I seen a show where music (whether electronica, a simple bass line, etc.)is evident in the background each and every moment- from the opening credits to the final beeps. Watch it next time and pay attention- it's very cool to realize this and will help you appreciate how much it does to keep the intensity constant throughout the show. Let me know if this helped- and enjoy the greatest show on earth.
